The first smart model of the new wave will be the No. 1 subcompact crossover (overall length of about 4.3 m), a direct competitor to the Mini Countryman, while the latter does not yet have a fully electric version. The appearance of the serial crossover as a whole repeats the concept presented in September 2021 at the Munich Motor Show. In October, patent images of the production version were leaked to the Web, and today you can finally see the official photos, still in camouflage, but without make-up films and overlays, that is, all the details and proportions can already be appreciated.<\/p>\n

Smart No. 1 is now in the final stages of testing, and production in China will begin this year. The crossover has carefully thought-out aerodynamics, without which it is impossible to provide an acceptable range on a single charge and a low noise level in the cabin of an electric car: active fins are provided on the retractable door handles. These mangoes have already been tested in the cold: they can withstand the formation of thin ice, but after freezing rain they will have to be somehow carefully removed.<\/p>\n

Smart #1 is based on the Geely SEA modular platform. The German magazine auto motor und sport specifies that we are talking about its junior version SEA Entry with a base rear electric motor with about 250 hp, it is likely that all-wheel drive versions too. The battery capacity will be about 70 kWh, the power reserve on a single charge is about 440 km on the WLTP cycle. The exact specifications will be made public during the premiere, the date of which has not yet been announced.<\/p>\n
