For disassembly and maintenance, you must do the following:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Remove starter;<\/li>\n<li>Remove the nuts on the keys 7, 13;<\/li>\n<li>Remove the retractor relay;<\/li>\n<li>Remove starter;<\/li>\n<li>Pull the retaining ring;<\/li>\n<li>To remove Bendix;<\/li>\n<li>Remove rollers and compressed springs;<\/li>\n<li>Rinse the parts in gasoline, clean out burrs and nicks;<\/li>\n<li>Lubricate the dried Bendix parts with engine oil and assemble the block.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If you see that the freewheel rollers are worn or the spring has lost its elasticity, then the parts must be replaced. Please note that for further operation, the couplings must be dry and absolutely clean.<\/p>\n<p>Practice shows that the replacement of individual clutch components allows Bendix for several years, but not always. If the starter is constantly spinning &#8220;idle&#8221;, its Bendix will most likely have to be replaced with a new one.<\/p>\n<h2>Replacement if necessary<\/h2>\n<p>Not always washing Bendix in a solvent liquid can introduce it into the system. This mechanism works in very difficult conditions, the teeth gradually wear out. The motorist can even, however, replace the plug if the base metal of the Bendix elements is worn out, the mechanism is unrepairable. The same applies to cases of serious damage to the hull. Fortunately, today drivers are available as BMW original spare parts and analogues from German and Italian companies.<\/p>\n<p>On average, a non-original BMW Bendix costs more than half the price of an original. Buying suppliers of products in production, you will get a quality repair solution at an affordable price. Often, these same firms sell individual components for overrunning repairs.
