Sales figures for the Italian brand Lamborghini in Europe have steadily increased since 2014. This positive trend “stumbled” only on the difficult 2020, which suffered from the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic: during the past year, dealers sold 1996 cars, which is almost 8% less than in 2019. Now the brand has returned to positive dynamics: in the first half of 2021, customers<\/a> bought 1302 sports cars, which is 34.4% more than a year earlier.<\/p>\n

More recently, the Italian company announced plans to bring back the familiar Countach name. Lamborghini also produced a rear-wheel drive sports car with a mid-engined layout during 1974-1990. Recall that its harbinger was the prototype Countach LP500, which the company showed in March 1971 at the Geneva Motor Show. The model was retired more than thirty years ago, but the company retained the name: now they decided to give it to the new supercar of the brand.<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, the company shared a teaser image of the upcoming car, showing the sports car tightly covered, probably with a dark cloth, and also partially “hidden” with some kind of “fog effect”. Judging by that image, one could only say that the novelty would be a “wedge-shaped” shape in the style of its predecessor, long ago “retired”.<\/p>\n

Now the company has published several more teasers of the future sports car: the images appeared on the official brand page on the Instagram social network. The pictures showed fragments of the new Lamborghini Countach supercar, demonstrating that there will be “echoes” of retro style in its appearance. So, on one of the teasers, a pointed front part is visible, under the logo on the side you can see the name of the future novelty, apparently, it is placed on a narrow radiator grille. In addition, a large air intake integrated into the lower part of the front bumper and a massive splitter got into the frame.<\/p>\n

Another teaser of the Countach allows you to look into the engine compartment of the supercar, where the V12 engine is visible (gold decorative elements are located on the cover). Recall that so far there is no exact official information about the “stuffing” of the model. According to preliminary data, it can get a mild hybrid power plant, like the Sian FKP 37, it is based on a 6.5-liter V12. Note that the “donor” has a total system output of 819 hp, while the power of the new product is expected to be approximately 800 hp. It takes less than three seconds to accelerate from standstill to “hundreds” of Sian, and the maximum speed is 354 km \/ h.<\/p>\n

The third image shows another part of the body, which looks like one of those air intakes that the original Countach had located closer to the stern. Directly in front of this element is a glossy black fuel tank cap.<\/p>\n

The company is still keeping a secret date for the presentation of the new Countach supercar. It is assumed that Lamborghini can bring a future model to the annual Monterey Car Week event, which will be held in California (unless, of course, it is canceled due to another coronavirus outbreak following the New York Auto Show).
