Debuted in 1998, the W220 was supposed to replace the undoubtedly legendary, but at the same time odious 140th body on the market, and coped with its <a href=\"\/recommend-todoist_com\" class=\"sds-arl\">task<\/a> only formally. This is the only S-Class in history that seems to be ashamed of its past and its destiny. The body of the W116 is the perfect embodiment of restrained beauty and boundless self-respect, which overwhelmed all Mercedes from the late 60s to the early 80s. This S-Class may seem rustic in <a href=\"\/recomendet-appsumo\" class=\"sds-arl\">design<\/a> and equipment in the basic versions with an index of 280. But it turned into a plague of the executive class when a 6.9-liter V8 (286 hp, 550 Nm) was under the hood. Today it (not without the help of restyling in 2017) looks just as relevant as it did at the time of its debut. Indeed, many, not without reason, consider the W140 not just the best S-class and not even just the best Mercedes, but in general the best car on the planet Earth. And in the early 90s, he certainly was just that. With his technological level, he trampled all competitors into the dirt. And it's not just the number of gadgets on board. No one at that time knew how to combine such incredible comfort for passengers with such incredible obedience for the driver. It was the Everest of German engineering! But the tragedy of the W140 is in the continuation of its phenomenal virtues. Outrageously expensive to build and perhaps not the most elegant S-Class in history, the Boar hit the market at a terribly unfortunate time. And it is not difficult to understand why he was so loved. You can talk for a long time about design outside of time, quality not for fear, but for conscience or indisputable historical significance.
