But that's all right – it's winter now. And also little snow. There is nothing to do in the village, not even go fishing. And slushy underfoot like autumn. So I write everything about cars too. I drove the former, here… I
drove about 20 cars and cars and trucks.

So, I inform you that I had six cars with injection engines: three Gazelles (two with ZMZ-405 and one with UMZ-4216), VAZ-2114 and Renault Kangoo. It started up and after a maximum of ten seconds got under way.

In this, in a relaxed movement, the engine warmed up faster than if it rumbled for free at idle. True, if snow fell, then I had to clean it off, and at that moment I still warmed the engine. Well, why should he stand – let the salon heat, frostbite the glass…

What was there besides them?

Oh yes, a lot. And four more Gazelles, Mercedes 308D, Ford Sierra, Opel Ascona, two Zhiguli 04 and 06, two Izhevsk heels, Lawn, FAV, MAN, Volkswagen LT45. But they are all either carburetors or diesels. There is a diesel lawn in the photo below. Here are all of them I have already warmed up.

So what's the fun? Kolis!

I warmed up the carburetor ones because it was difficult to drive until the carburetor itself warmed up. Suction manipulation and all that – who knows, he will shudder. Therefore, it is better to stand for a short time and warm up the engine at idle. Then there will be less problems later.

Moreover, interestingly, the ZMZ-402 carburetor engines had such a feature that after heating the car to operating temperature, it was necessary to turn off the engine and stand for about 10 minutes. This was especially necessary if the engine was turned off in wet weather or in snowfall in the evening.

The thing was that in wet cold weather, condensation formed on the cooling carburetor and inside it, ice clogged the carb channels. And on the 402, the intake manifold, on which the carburetor was located, was located above the hot exhaust manifold, the heat from which melted the ice. I melted it once in the morning, blew this moisture into the intake manifold and you drive normally all day.

But the injection engines did not need to be heated

…because the fuel supply depending on the temperature is controlled by the engine ECU and a car with an injection engine from the very moment of starting is able to drive with a cold engine in the same way as with a hot one. But what about oil?:))

Yes, there is a certain stereotype that they say the oil must be heated and it must be dispersed through the engine and create the necessary pressure where it is supposed to. And here I'll tell you one very smart thing – just don't be offended (s). An extinguished oil pressure warning light shows us that there is oil pressure in the system. In all the right places! Regardless of whether the oil is cold or even suddenly boiling already… If the light has not gone out, then you can't go in any case.

But more than that! Cold oil is also thick. And this means that the oil wedge is where it should be the most dense, and the oil's own extreme pressure properties are as great as possible. Those. It is cold oil for the engine that is more beneficial than hot oil. It is not by chance that oil coolers are installed… Oh, not by chance…

And in general, read the entire blog – there is a lot of interesting things for you!

It would seem that the blog is “about the village”, and then suddenly about cars.
