The motor power of the new version of the American model is still significantly lower compared to the output of the Ram 1500 TRX.<\/p>\n

Chevrolet is an American brand owned by General Motors. The company has been producing its full-size Silverado pickup truck since 1998. The model has already managed to change generations several times, the current generation appeared in 2019. It is worth noting that according to the results of the “covid” last year, the truck managed to increase its performance: dealers in the United States sold 595,184 units, which is 3.4% more than a year earlier. This year, the “plus” remains: in January-June, customers bought 291,322 units (9% more than in the first half of 2020).

To date, the Ford F-series is still the leader in the segment (362,032 units sold in the first half of 2021), the Ram 1500 is on the second line of the list (the result is 313,068 units). However, the competitor from Chevy does not want to lag behind: in order to finally get to the second place in the ranking, the flagship version of the truck, the Silverado ZR2, was created.<\/p>\n

This pickup truck is focused on off-road, and the choice in its favor was made for a reason: according to company estimates, about 30% of the total number of sold Silverado pickups are accounted for by the “off-road” version of the Trail Boss.<\/p>\n

Visually, this version can be distinguished by a unique grille with a large logo in the form of a recognizable “bow tie”, as well as small LED DRLs integrated into the “grill”. In addition, this version has a different steel bumper with removable end caps, which are much easier to change in case of deformation due to aggressive off-road driving. Notable details include red tow hooks, a black hood insert, ZR2 badges of course, and 18-inch wheels wrapped in 33-inch off-road tires.<\/p>\n

There are a number of changes including in the cabin. So, the trim in pickups in the performance of the ZR2 is made of black and gray leather. It is complemented by dark silver design<\/a> details (carbon look). Like the standard pickup truck, the Silverado ZR2 has a 12.3-inch virtual instrument cluster as well as a 13.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system.<\/p>\n

The car was reconfigured suspension and increased ground clearance: the “regular” Chevrolet Silverado figure is 225 mm, the version with the prefix ZR2 to the name – 284 mm. Under the hood, the flagship version assumes only one engine option: a 426-horsepower V8 with a volume of 6.2 liters, its maximum torque is 624 Nm. The engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.<\/p>\n

Note that the filling of the “charged” versions of the main competitors is still more powerful. So, the Ford F-150 Raptor is equipped with a 456-horsepower V6 EcoBoost biturbo engine with a volume of 3.5 liters (torque – 691 Nm). And the Ram 1500 TRX has a 712-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 HEMI (881 Nm) under the hood. Pricing has yet to be announced, but the Silverado ZR2 is expected to be more affordable than rivals from Ford and Ram.<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
