The predecessor of the novelty was the concept of the Aygo X prologue, presented in March 2021. A month ago, the Japanese brand released a teaser of a production car, the name of which was corrected during the generation change – now the model has the prefix “X” in the name. At the same time, the company officially announced that the new Aygo X will be an A-class crossover. At the same time, it is specified that the “x” should be pronounced like a cross.<\/p>\n
The new Aygo is significantly larger than its predecessor. The length of the so-called “cross-sedan” is 3700 mm (235 mm more), width – 1740 mm (125 mm more), height – 1510 mm (50 mm more). The distance between the axles is 2430 mm, while the current “five-door” has a wheelbase of 2340 mm.<\/p>\n In the photo: Toyota Aygo X sedan<\/p>\n Visually, the belonging of SUVs to the novelty is emphasized by a body kit made of unpainted plastic around the perimeter of the body, 17- and 18-inch wheels (depending on the version), while the original version of the predecessor relies on wheels from 15 inches. The Aygo X also has a smaller front windshield angle and ground clearance has been increased by 11mm.<\/p>\n The optics of the new Toyota is fully LED, the tailgate is a glass panel, and the glass of the rear doors does not fall, but folds. In addition, the model will still have the ability to fold the soft top (the stretched fabric on the large sunroof is moved manually). The new generation Aigo will not have three-door options.<\/p>\n The cabin has more space for the driver and passengers, better soundproofing. Toyota Aygo X is equipped with seven airbags (including the central one, which is located between the front seats). For an additional fee, you can install a Toyota Smart Connect multimedia system with a 9-inch touch screen, as well as a JBL audio system. The basic list includes the Toyota Safety Sense electronic assistant complex, which includes an automatic braking system that works through radar and a front camera. The trunk volume during the generation change increased to 231 liters (the current Aygo has 168 liters).<\/p>\n The new “raised” hatchback is based on the GA-B platform we're familiar with from the current Toyota Yaris. Aygo X is front wheel drive only. The engine was not touched: the “five-door” is still equipped with a three-cylinder 1.0-liter aspirated 1KR-FE, its power is 72 hp.
