Its first brainchild was the ID.3 five-door hatchback, which was launched in Europe last fall. Note that the model has good results: in the period from September 2020 to August 2021, the Eurohatch was sold with a circulation of 99,689 copies. Also in the &#8220;battery&#8221; family is the ID.4 crossover and its &#8220;charged&#8221; version &#8211; ID.4 GTX. In just nine months (a &#8220;normal&#8221; SUV appeared on the market in December 2020, a &#8220;warmed up&#8221; one later), 36,787 copies were purchased by customers. Now the German company has introduced a couple of new products at once: the ID.5 coupe-shaped &#8220;electrocrossover&#8221; and its &#8220;hot&#8221; version, the ID.5 GTX.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/auto.inform.com.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/post-211666-625033cbdfe3f.webp\" data-rel=\"lightbox\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"SDStudio-light-box-enable SDStudio-editor-tools-md-imp\" src=\"https:\/\/auto.inform.com.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/post-211666-625033cbdfe3f.webp\" alt=\"Almost no surprises: Volkswagen declassified ID.5 coupe crossover and its \u201chot\u201d version\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Pictured: Volkswagen ID.5 GTX<\/p>\n<p>The SUVs are based on the same modular MEB platform, on which not only the ID.3 and ID.4 are based, but also the &#8220;relatives&#8221; of the Skoda Enyaq and Audi Q4 e-tron (in addition to their derivatives with a coupe body). The length of ID.5 is 4599 mm (15 mm longer than parquet with a traditional roof), the width is 1852 mm, the height is 1613 mm; distance between axles 2766 mm. At the same time, the volume of the trunk slightly increased: from 543 to 549 liters.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/auto.inform.com.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/post-211666-625033cce7f44.webp\" data-rel=\"lightbox\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"SDStudio-light-box-enable SDStudio-editor-tools-md-imp\" src=\"https:\/\/auto.inform.com.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/post-211666-625033cce7f44.webp\" alt=\"Almost no surprises: Volkswagen declassified ID.5 coupe crossover and its \u201chot\u201d version\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The new ID.5 crossover is not much different from the Volkswagen ID.4: the front of the cars is almost identical, except that it looks a little sportier due to the different <a href=\"\/recomendet-appsumo\" class=\"sds-arl\">design<\/a> of the lower bumper. The &#8220;face&#8221; is the same for the GTX versions. The presented model has a more sloping roofline and aft design. In addition, the sloping roof crossover does not have a rear wiper, so a conventional rear wing helps keep the tailgate clear of dirt. Due to the more aerodynamic shape of the body, the engineers managed to reduce the drag coefficient Cd to 0.26 (0.28 for the &#8220;electric parquet&#8221; with a traditional roof).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/auto.inform.com.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/post-211666-625033ce0ae78.webp\" data-rel=\"lightbox\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"SDStudio-light-box-enable SDStudio-editor-tools-md-imp\" src=\"https:\/\/auto.inform.com.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/post-211666-625033ce0ae78.webp\" alt=\"Almost no surprises: Volkswagen declassified ID.5 coupe crossover and its \u201chot\u201d version\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In the photo: Volkswagen ID.5 GTX sedan<\/p>\n<p>In the Volkswagen ID.5 sedan, thanks to the lowered roof, there is less space for passengers sitting in the back seat: people whose height does not exceed 1.8 meters will comfortably accommodate here. This is where the changes in the interior end, because both the front panel and the modern multimedia system with the &#8220;over the air&#8221; upgrade function are no different from the ID.4 equipment.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/auto.inform.com.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/post-211666-625033cf1c66c.webp\" data-rel=\"lightbox\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"SDStudio-light-box-enable SDStudio-editor-tools-md-imp\" src=\"https:\/\/auto.inform.com.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/post-211666-625033cf1c66c.webp\" alt=\"Almost no surprises: Volkswagen declassified ID.5 coupe crossover and its \u201chot\u201d version\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In the photo: Volkswagen ID.5<\/p>\n<p>Note that the &#8220;junior&#8221; 52 kWh traction battery offered by the ID.4 is not needed for the &#8220;green&#8221; VW coupe-SUV. The crossover is equipped only with a larger battery &#8211; 77 kWh. There are only three versions: for example, the basic version &#8211; Volkswagen ID.5 Pro &#8211; has rear-wheel drive and a single 174 hp electric motor. The next Pro Performance variant also received a 204 hp engine. The power reserve is 520 km (calculated according to the WLTP cycle), and the maximum speed does not exceed 160 km \/ h.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/auto.inform.com.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/post-211666-625033d03bbb5.webp\" data-rel=\"lightbox\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"SDStudio-light-box-enable SDStudio-editor-tools-md-imp\" src=\"https:\/\/auto.inform.com.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/post-211666-625033d03bbb5.webp\" alt=\"Almost no surprises: Volkswagen declassified ID.5 coupe crossover and its \u201chot\u201d version\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The top version &#8211; ID.5 GTX &#8220;charged&#8221; &#8211; has all-wheel drive and a twin-engine installation (an electric motor for each axle). Like the Volkswagen ID.4 GTX, the total system output is 299 hp. The range on a single charge for this version is 480 km, the top speed is limited to approximately 180 km \/ h, and the coupe-SUV takes 6.3 seconds to accelerate from zero to a hundred.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/auto.inform.com.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/post-211666-625033d13c7d5.webp\" data-rel=\"lightbox\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"SDStudio-light-box-enable SDStudio-editor-tools-md-imp\" src=\"https:\/\/auto.inform.com.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/post-211666-625033d13c7d5.webp\" alt=\"Almost no surprises: Volkswagen declassified ID.5 coupe crossover and its \u201chot\u201d version\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In the photo: Volkswagen ID.5 sedan<\/p>\n<p>The new SUVs of the German brand will go on sale in the old world market in the first quarter of 2022. The company has yet to disclose pricing for the ID.5 and ID.5 GTX.
