\nToday, probably, a farewell review of the old generation Cadillac Escalade.<\/strong> A test drive of a new car is already ready and waiting for you on my channel (link at the end of the article). It is with his next arrival on our market, I believe that there will be many offers to buy used Escalades. Plus, I would like to hope that dealers will also drop prices on them. Although the latter is hard to believe. Despite the fact that this is initially a very reliable car with a minimum of “sore spots”, and in the updated version of the Cadillac Escalade, the manufacturer has eliminated many of the shortcomings that Cadillac owners complained about, and this version gets a solid 5 points compared to the old model.<\/p>\n

So what's under the hood<\/h3>\n

The familiar 6.2-liter V8 engine, 426 l \/ s (before the rest it was 409), 600+ Nm of torque. This has been put up for many years and has gone through several reincarnations. The last of these is a switchable 4 cylinders for fuel economy. True, I didn't manage to save money, because I drove only a week and I wanted to get the most out of the car. No other motor is offered.<\/p>\n

I have a seven-seater version for a test drive, which is quite suitable for a family if you consider it on a par with the new Polisade or Mojave. The car is huge, very roomy, with plenty of space for the rear passenger. With the front seats pushed back a lot, there is a lot of space ahead, even in the third row there is enough space for a teenager or an adult for a short trip.<\/p>\n

From the rear equipment – climate control, in the headrests – screens (I have a very good equipment on a test drive). The quality of interior trim materials is excellent, Cadillac has always been famous for them, but the interior design<\/a> itself, some of its elements are not always clear to me. Although a matter of taste.<\/p>\n

So, if you're buying an Escalade as a family car, it's important to know that the rear is seriously shaking because there's a bridge here. For mother-in-law, perhaps, it will do.) But it\u2019s better to take care of the children. The bridge is not with springs, like trucks, but with a multi-link and transverse link. Given the basic rear-wheel drive, this makes the car a roll. And such a performance when driving on the last row makes you feel like you are on the tail of a dog, especially in the long version. Shakes very hard. On the second, not much, but shakes.<\/p>\n

The second and third row seats are folded electrically. With their full addition, almost an apartment is formed in which you can live. You can safely sleep in the car by putting a small mattress. It will be comfortable for two, there is a lot of space – I personally experienced it.)<\/p>\n

I almost forgot to tell you how much space remains for third-row passengers. It\u2019s not difficult to get there – you raise the second-row seat with a handle, and it goes up by itself. The last row seats are slightly recessed, as in many cars. Theoretically, with my 175 cm height, I can sit there, but my knees are practically behind my ears. If you go like this, then only close. The kids will be much more comfortable. Of the bonuses, there is a cup holder, air ducts in the ceiling.<\/p>\n

Now to the front of the cabin. The quality of the finish, again, is very good. Even the bottom of the glove compartment in Alcantara – now manufacturers rarely allow themselves this. On the ceiling and in other, already visible places, even more so.<\/p>\n

The multimedia screen is certainly outdated, although it works quite quickly. I don't like navigation here, I prefer using my phone. The “beard” is framed in black gloss, as a result – all smeared with fingers. In the new Escalade, everything is much cooler. Cadillac does not take short steps when updating, it immediately jerks.<\/p>\n

Charging for the phone is not very convenient. If you put your phone there, it constantly moves while driving and the charging process is interrupted. The cool box under the center armrest works well and has plenty of room. Nearby is an additional USB connector and a cigarette lighter.<\/p>\n

In a word, everything in the cabin is decent and of high quality. Even if you buy a used car, don't be upset. Well, unless, of course, a very sloppy owner had not possessed it before. To kill him, you need to try hard.<\/p>\n

“Poker”… More precisely, the gearshift lever. It definitely takes some getting used to. For example, at first I stubbornly got into the lowest gear “low”, and then I wondered why the car was not moving.<\/p>\n

Despite the good sound insulation, when you press the gas pedal, you will still hear this most beautiful “boo-boo”.) And only SUCH motors sound like that. I especially feel this buzz in contrast with Tesla. Yes, it drives great, but here in the Cadillac, it's a special feeling.<\/p>\n

For those who haven't ridden the Escalade before, it's worth saying that it's very rolly. And this is with the declared acceleration to hundreds of 6.7 seconds. It can really be very fast and dynamic, but the roll feels terrible.<\/p>\n

You need to get used to using the brakes, because at first it seems that they are not there. This is not so, they are just deep enough and not bad, you need to push the pedal. At the same time, you will definitely enjoy driving this car.<\/p>\n

\"Is<\/a><\/p>\n

There is one nuance in the operation of the box: when you press the gas, you feel a “second of thought”. Then the car rushes. Moreover, the eight-speed is good, designed for a moment of more than 900 Nm at the current 600+, therefore, the box is more than enough.<\/p>\n

A little summary at the end<\/h3>\n

Landing<\/a> in the Cadillac Escalade is very high, at the level of small trucks – it's very high. If you haven\u2019t driven large cars before, it\u2019s better to try it, but personally it\u2019s super for me, given the many years of experience driving a Hummer. Not all people are like that, it may be inconvenient for some.<\/p>\n

Escalade is huge, living in the center, I would not have bought it either. But on the other hand, it has unconditional power with the available roll. Excellent equipment awaits even in a simple configuration. The average consumption with my driving style is 17.3 liters per 100 km \/ h, more often even more. Remember, there will be a new one soon. And the old one, as an option, is on the used car market – why not.<\/p>\n
