Results continue to grow this year, with customers purchasing 10,336 copies in the first 11 months, up 27.4% from a year earlier.<\/p>\n

In addition, Electronic Pose Control (KPC) is mandatory on all versions of the 2022 Mazda MX-5. It uses momentary braking on the inside rear wheel to reduce body roll when cornering. The process is automatic: the difference in the speed of rotation of the left and right wheels is calculated electronically, and the system also takes into account the speed of movement to select the degree of braking required for a given wheel. It turns out that at any high-speed turn, the car body is, as it were, pressed against the road.<\/p>\n

Mazda has also decided to expand its two-door lineup for the Japanese market with a new version: the 990S Roadster has been identified as the lightest version of the model. In such a car, the engine control unit, suspension and steering were reconfigured. In addition, the version was equipped with forged aluminum “rollers” with a diameter of 16 inches (only this eventually made it possible to lighten the roadster by 3.2 kg), Brembo brakes with larger discs and four-piston front calipers. As a result, the curb weight of such a roadster turned out to be about 985-986 kg – the company did not disclose the exact figure, but in the passport data it was rounded up to 990 kg (curiously, judging by the documents, the basic version of the Roadster S has the same curb weight).<\/p>\n

The engine of the new version of the 990S is standard: a 1.5-liter “atmospheric” Skyactiv-G engine, whose power is 132 hp. (maximum torque 152 Nm). It is paired with a six-speed manual transmission. Note that other variants of the roadsters in the line also have full versions of the six-speed “automatic”.<\/p>\n

The 2022 model cars will enter the domestic market in the middle of next month. Subsequently, the updated Mazda MX-5 will be released to other markets. The price for the new 990S in Japan is already known and starts at 2,893,000 yen (approximately 1.88 million conventional units at the current exchange rate).
