By 2035, the American company General Motors plans to completely switch to electric vehicles, but there is still time to play with gasoline engines. The ZZ632\/1000 engine is based on the more modest ZZ572\/620 lower shaft assembly, the numbers in both cases indicate engine displacement in cubic feet and approximate horsepower. The press release also gives the exact displacement in conventional cubic centimeters: for the ZZ632\/1000 engine, it leaves 10,348 cm3 and is obtained by increasing the bore and piston stroke.<\/p>\n

The cylinder block is made of cast iron, but the heads are made of aluminum and the intake and exhaust manifolds of the same length are bolted to them from scratch (for the ZZ572 \/ 620 engine, the length of the channels varies from cylinder to cylinder). Pistons – forged aluminum, crankshaft – forged steel, injection – distributed, compression ratio – 12: 1. Maximum power – 1018 hp at 6600 rpm (external speed characteristic indicates power in American mechanical horsepower, it is slightly lower, than international metric “horses”) maximum torque 1188 Nm at 5600 rpm, cut-off kicks in at 7000 rpm.. Fuel consumption? Oh, that's enough – your target audience<\/a> is not interested.<\/p>\n

Chevrolet Performance has conducted over 200 bench tests on the ZZ632\/1000 to ensure its reliability. We have no doubt that the engine will run like clockwork out of the box, but we have no doubt that many buyers of this engine will upgrade it to one degree or another. With such a volume of work, getting 2000 hp and above is not so difficult, although at the expense of the resource. Surely we will soon see the ZZ632 \/ 1000 engine under the hood of various tuning and racing cars. Its cost has not yet been announced, but it is unlikely to exceed $30,000.
