<\/a><\/p>\nTo improve the position of the pickup in the future, its electric version promises to help. Such a car has an addition to the name – Lightning (translated from English as “lightning”). The name seems familiar to many, since a pickup truck with this name already existed in the previous two generations (with a break of several years). So, the car of the first generation left the assembly line in 1993-1995, and the second – from 1999 to 2004. For the development of such a “hot” version, then a separate division of Ford, the Special Vehicle Team (SVT), was responsible.<\/p>\n
Now Ford said that the production of the Ford F-150 Lightning has started, however, so far we are only talking about assembling pre-production copies that the company intends to send for road tests. It is known that the novelty will be launched into the series next year, the first customers will receive their “electric pickups” in the spring of 2022.<\/p>\n Earlier, Kolesa.ru already mentioned the rush demand for the “green” version of the truck. So, within the first 12 hours after the start of accepting orders, the model crossed the mark of 20 thousand applications, after a couple of days their number increased to 44.5 thousand, to date (less than four months have passed) more than 150 thousand orders have been issued.<\/p>\n The electric version of the F-150 has several external differences from the “ordinary” pickup truck, including a “stub” with different patterns in place of the radiator grill, the head optics were supplemented with an LED strip across the entire width of the upper part of the “grill”, and the rear lights are interconnected similar red line. Inside, in some versions, the horizontal 12-inch touchscreen of the multimedia system was replaced with a 15.5-inch tablet (like the Ford Mustang Mach-E). In addition, the list of standard equipment includes a fully virtual instrument panel.<\/p>\n Recall that the “battery” pickup truck has a couple of “stuffing” options, each has four-wheel drive and involves a twin-engine installation (one electric motor on each axle). The Standard Range has a total system output of 432 hp. (maximum torque – 1051 Nm). The power reserve of such a car is 370 km.
