The presentation of the electric sports car was held as part of the Tokyo Motor Show. The Japanese company presented it as a concept.<\/p>\n

Subaru, like many other automakers operating in the global market, is gradually mastering the development<\/a> and production of electric vehicles. So, last fall, the Japanese company introduced a completely “green” SUV Solterra, created in partnership with Toyota. This crossover is based on the modular e-SGP platform, and is comparable in size to the Forester. By the way, during the opening of the Tokyo Motor Show, Subaru introduced the concept of this “heated” SUV – Solterra STI.<\/p>\n

This show car was based on the usual production version of the Subaru Solterra SUV: the company does not report any changes in the technical part. All the differences are concentrated in appearance: the show car received a large roof spoiler that seems to hang over the tailgate, as well as contrasting red accents around the entire perimeter of the body: on the front splitter, side skirts and rear diffuser.<\/p>\n

The main exhibit of the brand at the exhibition was another concept: Subaru STI E-RA. This electric hypercar was created as part of the STI E-RA Challenge project, which involves the further development of “socket” technology for motorsports “in today's carbon-neutral era.” Subaru Tecnica International took part in the creation of a “green” sports show car.<\/p>\n

Until now, the company has offered to get acquainted with the exterior of the Subaru STI E-RA coupe: the car was equipped with various aerodynamic elements, including a large front splitter and a huge rear spoiler. Such a car, obviously, is prepared exclusively for driving on the track. Its length is 5010 mm, width – 2000 mm, height – 1310 mm, and wheelbase – 2690 mm.<\/p>\n

The mass of the electric racing coupe is 1690 kg. The hypercar was equipped with a 60 kWh traction battery. The car is all-wheel drive – each wheel has an individually controlled electric motor, they are created by Yamaha developers. The total power of this power plant is 1088 hp, and the maximum torque is 1100 Nm. So far, Subaru has been silent on the dynamic performance of the STI E-RA.<\/p>\n

Instead, the Japanese have named one of the goals that the racing coupe must achieve: it is a lap time at the N\u00fcrburgring, which is expected to be less than 6 minutes 40 seconds. STI has just begun sea trials of an electric sports car. The company is likely to spend at least a year on testing: the coupe will drive along Germany's famous autobahn in 2023.<\/p>\n

More recently, Kolesa.ru talked about the next premiere of the Tokyo Motor Show – we are talking about the Toyota GRMN Yaris. It is known that the company will release only 500 copies, all-wheel drive modified “hot hatches” will be sold in the domestic market.
