The updated Focus was revealed by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Trade, and this is already the second major update for the Chinese model of the current generation: the first was carried out in 2020, while the “fourth” European Ford Focus underwent a complete restyling in 2021. By the way, in the Celestial Empire, the family, which includes a sedan, an “off-road” station wagon, a hatchback and its crossover version, continues to lose customers. Thus, according to local specialized media, only about 23,000 copies were sold there last year against 32,500 pieces a year earlier. But once the model found 300,000 – 400,000 owners!<\/p>\n

While the sedan and hatchback are declassified, crossovers will apparently be upgraded later. After the previous modernization, in appearance, the machines for the Celestial Empire moved away from the machines of the “old world”, but now the design<\/a> is unified again, although there are still some features. For example, the new headlights (they are the same as those of the “European”) are still next to the radiator grill, and now all modifications seem to have such a solution (the pre-reform hatch and the “charged” versions of the ST Line for China have a front end like previous “old world” model). In addition, the Chinese Focus received an S Edition with a more aggressive mesh and ST Line-style bumpers.<\/p>\n

The hall is not yet lit. It is possible that, following other Chinese Fords, the Focus family received a giant scoreboard (a virtual “computer” and a touch screen of a multimedia system combined with each other).<\/p>\n

The main technical novelty is a 1.5 turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine with a power of 177 hp. Apparently, this engine will replace the “turbo engine” of the same volume (174 hp).<\/p>\n

The debut of the restyled Focus is expected in the second quarter of this year. For China, the vehicles are produced by a joint venture between Ford and Changan.<\/p>\n
