Dear reader, in today's material, an unconventional topic for our channel is recommendations and anti-recommendations for buying a new or almost new crossover.<\/p>\n

At the end of 2019, crossovers (SUVs) in percentage terms occupied 44.5% of the sales market of all new cars, according to AUTOSTAT, this is the most popular segment of new cars. In the article, we consider SUV subgroups C and D<\/strong>, which, according to generally accepted standards, are determine<\/a>d by overall dimensions, or rather, by the length of the car. SUV C are models whose overall length is approximately 4.3 to 4.6 meters. SUV D – from 4.6 to 4.8 meters. Further, we are only interested in those cars that in the “average” configuration are in the price range from 1.5 to 2 million conventional units, excluding dealer special stages. In the course of the story, we will give the recommended builds and their prices for today.<\/p>\n

Since the profile of our channel is almost new cars (2-5 years old with a mileage of up to 100,000 km<\/strong>), in our review you will not see market novelties and new generations of popular models that came out less than a year ago. We study the reliability of cars based on the reviews of the owners, but so far there is not enough data on new products, mileage and ownership periods do not allow us to draw objective conclusions. Therefore, we are considering, for example, the new Toyota RAV4, the new generation of Subaru Forester, Skoda Karoq. Although we are sure that these models are in demand, they find and will find their admirers and owners.<\/p>\n

Another assumption is that we do not consider models with robotic gearboxes. Why? In our opinion, the robot is justified for suburban operation, without traffic jams. Since in traffic jams it wears out faster than mechanics, a variator or a classic automatic. But at the same time, all car models on our market, presented with robotic gearboxes, are positioned as city cars. Give us a Tiguan with automatic transmission and we will vote for it! But for now, we are only waiting for Jetta and Skoda Karok\u2026.<\/p>\n

Let's start with the most controversial segment – Chinese cars. There are many articles about them in our materials, and for ourselves we concluded that the percentage of marriage and warranty claims in general among the Chinese is still higher than the market average, the likelihood of various problems, especially with electrics and build quality, is also higher. Of all the Chinese, our recommendation is Geely Atlas.<\/p>\n
