One of the most popular crossovers among many users, the charming Mitsubishi Outlander has reached a new level of functionality: from now on, this Japanese SUV is available in a 7-seater version.<\/p>\n

Especially recently, where the lion's share of consumer demand for cars of this brand – more than 50% – falls on this particular car: in the first half of 2019 alone, our country purchased more than 10.6 thousand Outlanders. For years, owners have valued its versatility, excellent chassis and all terrain features, smart ergonomics, comfort, safety, balanced engines, efficient transmissions and, of course, legendary reliability. The only thing many people think this “Japanese” lacks is a third row of seats to make it even more practical. And this gap is now filled by the best seller is ready to take on board up to seven riders at the same time.<\/p>\n

To distinguish the 7-seater version is perhaps impossible – the body has retained all the dimensions of a standard 5-seater crossover (the same 4695 mm long, 1810 mm wide). But as soon as you open the door, it becomes clear that you have a new version full of interior layouts. Being limited in space, Japanese engineers managed to “stretch” the interior of this SUV, so that the third row of seats “sat” in its stern just like a glove – as if it was originally conceived that way. In addition, the comfort in the first two lines does not depend on this.<\/p>\n

First of all, the design<\/a>ers thought about how to provide a convenient passage to the “gallery”. To do this, they made the second row of seats sliding it forward easily from a quarter of a meter (a 25-centimeter “window” in any car is a lot). In addition, with just one movement of your hand, you can fold the rear sofa, thereby opening it up like a “gate” for passengers. The latter, even if they are quite high and teenagers are quite comfortably accommodated in the third row seats – there is enough legroom and overhead. In addition, the backs of these seats are adjustable in tilt angle (two positions), and in the aft area there are cup holders and niches for small things; smartphones can easily fit them. If you want to put very young riders there, it is possible to install a child seat.<\/p>\n

However, this Mitsubishi Outlander has not lost the functionality of the base model at all. In a matter of seconds, by simply pulling on the straps, it can turn into a 5- and 2-seater vehicle capable of carrying large volumes of cargo. In the latter case (if the backs of the rear two rows are folded down), the 128-liter barrel (containing a pair of medium-sized suitcases) turns into a 1608-liter “hold”, which can accommodate, for example, mountain bikes. Or a cabinet up to 168 cm high, however, in the “standard” 5-seater variant, this car is able to offer 477 liters of usable volume per sofa plus an additional 17 liters. organizer hidden under the floor.<\/p>\n

And vice versa, using all the same convenient latches and straps, you can easily return to your multi-passenger crossover look. However, the seat folding system is simple, so safe: as tests have shown, even a child can handle it (which, in fact, the Japanese designers wanted). In addition, it provides up to 16 interior transformation options.<\/p>\n

Outlander 7-seater versions are available in two well-equipped trim levels: intensive + 4-wheel drive (2,073,000), and final 4-wheel drive (2,369,000), where 2 – and 2.4-liter gasoline engine with a capacity of 146 and 167 l. with. respectively, paired with a variator.
