The Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance at the end of last month announced an expanded plan for the further development of its brands: Alliance 2030. Recall, according to the new strategy, by 2026 the share of use of common platforms should increase to 80% (now – 60%). In the future, the alliance will focus on the development and production of electric vehicles: over the next five years, about 23,000 million euros will be invested in their development.

One of the alliance's electric vehicles will be a new small-capacity electric hatchback that will replace the Micra. During the presentation of the expanded strategy of the alliance, the Japanese company Nissan published teasers of the future novelty: they gave the first clues about how the production model will look like. It will hit the market in 2024.

The closest “relative” of the Nissan Micra successor will be the new Renault 5 (this electric car was declassified in February 2021). Its production will be established at the facilities of the Renault ElectriCity production center, which is located in France. As we reported earlier, both runabouts are based on the CMF-BEV platform.

At the same time, cars of the Japanese and French brands will have different designs: for example, in the appearance of Renault 5 there are references to the ancestor of the same name with angular shapes (this model was developed in the early 70s). In turn, the exterior of Nissan will borrow the aesthetics of the Juke crossover, as well as the roundness of the shapes of the successful third-generation Micra crumbs (K12).

While the company has not fully officially declassified the appearance of the future novelty. And this means that artists have the opportunity to offer their own version of the appearance of the electric successor to the Nissan Micra. The designer of the Spanish publication motor.es shared his own render with us. Judging by the image created, among other things, thanks to recent teasers, the novelty can still borrow the profile of the French “brother”.

The main differences between the new hatchback of the Japanese brand will be noticeable in the front and rear of the car. The car is expected to have small “slanted” main headlights encased in thin ovals of LED daytime running lights. Fog lights are integrated into the lower part of the front bumper, and in the traditional place of the grille there is a smooth plug.

Presentation of the Nissan Micra successor

Unfortunately, there is no image of the stern of the Nissan Micra successor, but it is assumed that the design elements and general style will be similar to the decoration on the front of the “electric sunroof”. It is likely that the model will be equipped with light-alloy wheels of a rather large radius – the publication notes that large wheels will increase ground clearance and give the new product a “crossover look”.

There is no official data on the “stuffing” of the new Nissan yet. It is expected that the model will be equipped with a single electric motor located on the front axle, its power is likely to be slightly higher than 136 hp. The traction battery will be located between the axles, its capacity is likely to be slightly higher than that of the battery of the French “twin”. It is expected that the power reserve on a single charge will exceed 400 km.
