The company has been producing its full-size Silverado pickup truck since 1998. Over the years, the model has managed to change generations several times, the current generation appeared in 2019. According to the results of the crisis last year, the truck managed to increase its performance: dealers in the United States sold 595,184 copies, which is 3.4% more than a year earlier. This year, the positive dynamics continues: in January-June, customers bought 291,322 units (9% more).

The full-size pickup in the lineup has a version with HD added to the name. It is expected that the model will be significantly “refreshed” by the 2023 model year, in particular, the car is likely to receive a different “stuffing”. According to The Fast Lane Truck, the Silverado HD truck will have an updated 6.6-liter Duramax V8 turbodiesel under the hood. According to preliminary data, its output can be equal to 505 hp, and the maximum torque is 1471 Nm. In this case, this Chevrolet Silverado will be the most powerful in the lineup. In addition, the model can get an upgraded “machine” (details are not yet disclosed).

The new engine is expected to replace Chevrolet's current Duramax V8 diesel, with the same displacement (6.6 liters) but only 445 hp and 1,233 Nm of torque. For comparison, the most powerful Ford V8 diesel engine, which is equipped with the F-150, has an output of 475 hp. (1423 Nm), and the in-line Cummins diesel under the hood of the Ram 1500 produces 420 hp. (1457 Nm).

Kolesa.ru recently reported on the Chevrolet Silverado update: one of the main innovations is the appearance of the flagship version of the truck – the ZR2 version. Such a pickup differs in appearance: we are talking about a unique radiator grille with a large logo in the form of a recognizable “bow tie”, as well as small LED DRLs integrated into the “grill”, a different steel bumper with removable end caps, red towing hooks, a black insert on the hood, 18-inch wheels wrapped in 33-inch off-road tires.

The ZR2 version also has changes in the cabin: trim made of black and gray leather, complemented by dark silver design details. In addition, the car's suspension was reconfigured in the new version and the ground clearance was increased (for the “regular” Chevrolet Silverado, the figure is 225 mm, for the version with the ZR2 prefix to the name – 284 mm).

Under the hood, the flagship version of the Chevrolet Silverado 2022 model year will have only one “stuffing” option – a 426-horsepower V8 engine with a volume of 6.2 liters, its maximum torque is 624 Nm. This engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
