Dongfeng ix7 2020 – flagship crossover, Dong Feng
The new 7-seat crossover ix7 Dongfeng (DFM Ai x 7) has entered the ranks of Chinese innovation 2019-2020 vehicles. The official premiere of Dong Feng Ma x 7, dedicated to the auto show in Chengdu in early September 2019. The price of the new Dongfeng ix7 crossover ranges from 150,000 yuan (about 1.4 million conventional units).
The car is beautiful and promising, let’s talk about the configuration and performance of a large Chinese 7-seater crossover developed by Dongfeng Motor Corporation to promote both local and international markets. And I just want to point out two interesting facts.
Firstly, the novelty has become the second model of the IX series after the coupe crossover Dongfeng ix5 presented in the spring of 2018.
Secondly, a large 7-seat crossover, Dongfeng Motor Corporation is equipped with a powerful gasoline 231-horsepower 2.0-liter turbo engine, designed to successfully withstand cars and Haval H9, Changan CS95 and Toyota Highlander.
Developers of the flagship crossover, the Dongfeng ix7, insist that the exterior design of the car’s body is made in the same style as the Dongfeng ix5 cross coupe. Maybe. But the Dong Feng Ma X 7’s body is not as stylish or attractive as the Series IX’s little brother, and more like a Japanese Highlander competitor.
Judging by the first photos of the new Chinese crossover, it looks solid and respectable, as befits a large car with a cab that can accommodate 7 people in three rows of seats. There is no hint of sportiness and elegance in the design, it demonstrates a coupe-shaped relationship.
The external dimensions of the body are an impressive 4930 mm in length 1935 mm width 1765 mm height 2810 mm wheelbase.
For comparison, the rear of the Haval H9 SUV has a length of 4856 mm. The total body length with the Changan CS95 is 4945 mm, and the 4th generation Toyota Highlander crossover stretches to a length of 4950 mm.
It is worth noting that the Dongfeng flagship is equipped by default with full LED headlights, LED foglights and a chic chandelier of marker lights with LED content.
The interior of a large Chinese crossover is offered as a 6-seater with a seating formula 2 + 2 + 2 (the second row of chairs is two captains) and a 7-seat car with a seating formula 2 + 3 + 2 with a triple sofa of the second row.
In the equipment list, a virtual instrument panel, an advanced multimedia system Lin OS 4.0 with a 12-inch display (multimedia, Internet Wi-Fi Internet, wind link, CarLife, navigation, voice control, remote access), driver and front passenger seats with electric adjustment, heated and ventilated seats in the first and second row of seats, three-zone automatic climate control with a touch control panel, a panoramic sunroof, a surround view system and a parking assistant, an electric trunk lid, and of course, leather trim.
