Dongfeng T5 2018 – Chinese crossover with BMW engine

The new Chinese crossovers of the 2018-2019 model year is the Dongfeng T5 (Dong Feng DF or T5) – a stylish compact SUV with a bright appearance, a luxurious interior and a powerful 204-horsepower 1.6-liter BMW gasoline turbo engine (a similar engine is installed and shine B7). The fact that both employees of the SUV is equipped with a modern multimedia complex with voice control and an intelligent operation system developed on the Apollo platform from Baidu. According to the representatives of the FMD, the artificial intelligence, which is present on board the Dongfeng T5, is capable of not only correctly, quickly and accurately executing the driver’s commands, but even predicting the development of the situation on the road, analyzing the behavior of a person and a car. How!!! In the future, the Apollo project will produce self-driving cars.

This, of course, is in the future, but at the moment, the Chinese new compact crossover is already ready for mass production and will delight potential Chinese customers with a modern and stylish appearance, a high-quality interior with rich equipment and quite advanced technical stuffing.

Let’s start our review with the exterior. And to be honest, Dongfeng T5 looks solid, stylish, modern and attractive. The Chinese body of the SUV flaunts full LED headlights, LED foglights and LED taillights complement the chrome decor.

The model also has an elegant radiator grille with an impeccable figure, a hood with a powerful, embossed, aristocratic body, a fashionable floating roof, impressive wheel arches filled with large 18-inch wheels (alloy wheels with 215/55 R18 tires), a powerful plastic body kit around the perimeter of the body, which protects the front and rear bumpers, wheel arch edges, sills and the lower parts of the side doors from minor damage.

The five-seater interior of the new Chinese crossover is qualitatively assembled from inexpensive materials.
