Restyled crossover Kia Seltos: approximate dates of the premiere are known
Planned restyling can bring improved security systems to the Korean brand's compact SUV. In some places, they also hope for an increase in power.
The Kia Seltos crossover debuted in India in 2019, Korea became the first market for it, but the news about the upcoming restyling arrived from Australia: the upgraded SUV should appear there in the second half of next year, CarsGuide reports, citing the local division of the brand. Although the first refreshed SUV, most likely, will again receive Korean dealers, and the model can reach them a few months earlier than the Australian ones. In general, it is possible that such a Seltos will premiere at the beginning of 2022. Note that there are no branded images of the restyled cross yet, even teasers have not been published, that is, it is not yet known exactly how the SUV will change – only guesswork.

In particular, CarsGuide believes that the front of the Seltos could well be redesigned in the style of the new generation Kia Sportage. Like it or not, we will find out after the official announcement, or even after the premiere. But in any case, you can count on other bumper and grille. Even the Australians tipped “their” model of improved security systems and a virtual “tidy”.
Finally, the publication believes that for the local version, the output of the 1.6 T-GDI petrol turbo four can be increased: from the current 177 to 199 hp. However, if Kia decides to update technology, it is unlikely to happen in all markets. In Australia, the current Seltos is still available with a naturally aspirated 2.0 MPI with 150 hp. Both motors are combined with a CVT, the turbo engine is also equipped with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

Until recently, Kia Seltos got last year, we have a crossover available with atmospheric 1.6 MPI (123 hp) and 2.0 MPI (149 hp) and the same 1.6 T-GDI turbo engine (177 hp).). The base engine is paired with a six-speed “mechanics” or “automatic”, the two-liter is combined with a CVT, the turbo version comes with 7DCT. Aspirated cars come with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, Seltos with 1.6 T-GDI are exclusively all-wheel drive. The restyled SUV? will probably appear at the end of 2022 at best.
