The next Hyundai Grandeur caught spies again: a bold design and a reference to the “first” sedan

2

In the new generation, the model can receive not only a hybrid version, but also a fully electric version. In this case, the "traditional" variants with internal combustion engines should remain in service. The first one is to take place in 2022.

The “four-door" Hyundai Grandeur of the next, seventh generation with the factory index GN7 began to stumble upon its native Korea more and more often: another video was posted on the LookCAR YouTube channel in which we see how a sample of a disguised test is taken somewhere. Recall that the model has been produced since 1986, the current generation sedan has been in service since 2016 (in some markets it is Azera), in 2019 it underwent a radical restyling, distinguishing itself, among other things, by the operation of the car hidden LEDs. And the new Grandeur will have an even bolder design, while Hyundai will add retro styling.

Perhaps the main "chip" of the next sedan will be the main optics. No, two tiers (upper sidelights, below them are headlights) are no longer a miracle for Hyundai cars – the new generation of four-door Mistra, designed for China, has a similar solution. But Grandeur made the headlight clusters vertical, like the Staria minivan. Lanterns in the form of thin strips. Well, thanks to previous spy footage, we also know that the sedan will have a huge grille. And very "retro" – these are separate windows in the rear pillars, clearly referring to the first generation Grandeur (which, in turn, was an official copy of the Mitsubishi Debonair).

The paparazzi have not yet been able to look into the salon of the novelty. However, and therefore it is clear that there will be large displays inside (a “neat” and multimedia system), and even the sedan may lose physical buttons, finally switching to sensors.

According to unofficial data, the next Grandeur will be larger than its predecessor – presumably, the length will exceed 5 meters. Dimensions of the current "four-door": length – 4990 mm, width – 1875 mm, height – 1470 mm, wheelbase – 2885 mm.

The new sedan is expected to have an all-electric variant. The "traditional" versions will continue, as will the hybrid, but there is no information on the technique yet. The current Hyundai Grandeur is available in Korea with naturally aspirated 2.5 GDI (198 hp) and V6 3.3 GDI (290 hp) engines, as well as a V6 3.0 LPi petrol engine (235 hp). The "four-door" hybrid is equipped with a 2.4 MPI engine.

Earlier it was reported that the "seventh" Grandeur will go on sale only in 2023. But, judging by the captured cars, the model is almost ready. That is, it is possible that the electric version will enter the market in a year, but the “traditional” sedan is likely to enter the market as early as 2022.
