The next Hyundai Grandeur was caught by spies: the sedan will again surprise with its design

As expected, the appearance of the new “four-door” will be a reference to the very first Grandeur. The new model was supposed to hit the market only in 2023, but judging by the fact that it is almost ready, the sedan may go on sale next year.

The four-door Hyundai Grandeur has been in service since 1986. The current sixth generation model in a row debuted in 2016 (in some markets it's the Azera), and three years later it has undergone a radical change, distinguishing itself among other things, from position lights to hidden diodes. By the way, Grandeur remains the most popular passenger car in his native Korea: from January to November of this year, more than 81 thousand units were sold. Last week we talked about the new generation sedan getting a retro look. And now the “seventh” Hyundai Grandeur was filmed at home, a video with it was posted on the WoopaTV YouTube channel.

The same “retro” is separate windows in the rear pillars, clearly referring to the first generation model (which, in turn, was an official copy of the Mitsubishi Debonair). Other external features of the novelty are large vertical clusters of headlights in the style of the Hyundai Staria minivan, a huge radiator grille and taillights made in the form of narrow stripes. There are thin lines above the headlights that appear to act as navigation lights (maybe it's a solid bar).

However, the spies did not look into the salon, and it is clear that there will be large displays (“tidy” and multimedia) and solid sensors inside.

The sedan seems to have grown, but the exact dimensions, of course, are still unknown. The length of the current Hyundai Grandeur is 4990 mm, width – 1875 mm, height – 1470 mm, wheelbase – 2885 mm.

According to unofficial data, the new generation model will have an all-electric version. At the same time, the “traditional” options will remain, as will the hybrid, but there is no information about replacing the technology yet. The current Grandeur in Korea is offered with a 2.5 GDI “atmospheric” petrol (198 hp) and a V6 3.3 GDI (290 hp), as well as a V6 3.0 LPi petrol engine (235 hp). The “four-door” hybrid is equipped with a 2.4 MPI engine.

Some foreign media write that the new generation Hyundai Grandeur will go on sale only in 2023. While it is possible that the electric version will hit the market later, the “traditional” sedan could hit the market as early as 2022.

Recently, the current Grandeur has not been presented, it is unlikely that we will also see a new one, because? the niche of expensive large sedans Hyundai has given way to its premium Genesis brand.

Meanwhile, in November, the Korean manufacturer introduced the very first Hyundai Grandeur electric restomod. Apparently, this can be considered preparation for the launch of a campaign to promote the upcoming novelty.
