Volvo P1800 – 5.5 million km

The owner of a stylish Swedish coupe, American Irvin Gordon, has long been considered a champion. The odometer of his car showed 5.5 (!) million (!!) kilometers.

Immediately after the purchase in 1966, Gordon did almost nothing in the car, although he drives the car all the time. For every million kilometers, Volvo gave Gordon a brand new car, but the American does not change his beloved car. From the overhaul in the car, only the gearbox was made, in which the seals were changed.

Saab SPG – 1.7 million km

Another Swedish relic with huge mileage. Like the Volvo P1800, the Saab SPG is kept by an elderly American. Sales agent Pete Gilbert bought the car in 1989 and has since driven the stylish coupe for 1.7 million miles.

Gilbert himself says that nothing major broke in the car. Once changed the radiator and three times – the cylinder head gasket. The box was also repaired during this time – an attempt to slow down the engine cost Gilbert the first gear.

BMW 325i – 1.6 million km

One of the most enduring BMWs belongs to Mobil. The coupe (already the third on the list) with the M20-B25 engine was bought for engine oil tests and in five years 1.6 million kilometers were “wound” on the odometer of a stylish white car.

However, the unique car almost never drove on asphalt. She was “chased” on the stand at an average speed of 150 kilometers per hour. The oil was changed every 10 thousand kilometers and it is worth saying that the car is still on the move, although the condition of the engine is unknown.

Volkswagen Jetta – 1 million km

The Fast & Furious Jesse's Car is one of the most popular sedans in the world. Sam Schmidt from the USA shows by his own example why – his Jetta “ran” 1 million kilometers without an overhaul of the engine and burnt gearboxes. Schmidt himself notes that he did nothing but regular oil changes, and the driving style is far from racing.

Honda Accord – 1.6 million km

In 1996, American Joe Lassiero bought a Japanese sedan not the first freshness with a range of 120,000 miles (193,000 km) and almost immediately changed all the fluids in it.

Lassiero preferred service in the garage to visit an authorized dealer, and a few years later Joe recorded a beautiful mileage – 1 million miles (1 million 609 thousand kilometers). The only failure so far is the clutch. Of the additional costs – hauling the upholstery, which the children of Lassiero tore during the trip.

Living “Beetle” – 2.4 million km

Californian Albert Klein of Pasadena bought a Volkswagen Beetle in 1963. By car in a mild climate, he drove to and from work every day – about 200 kilometers a day. As a result, at one of the scheduled maintenance, the dealer center employees photographed the mileage – the figures of 1 million 444 thousand miles (2.4 million km) “froze” on the odometer. For such devotion, Volkswagen gave Klein a new Beetle, but the driver still did not forget the old car.

Porsche 911 – 1.4 million km

Porsche 911 by Canadian Bill McEachern is another story about brand loyalty. His Nine-One-One was purchased in 1976 and McEachern has been driving the boxer sports car every day since then. The car is still in perfect condition despite the harsh Canadian climate. There are already 1.38 million km on the Porsche odometer, and zero major breakdowns. The most time-consuming repair is the replacement of candles and the alternator belt.

Porsche 356 – 2 million km

Another German sports car with truck-like mileage was found in Long Beach, USA. Its owner, Guy Newmark, a dentist, bought the car in 1964 and has driven it every day since. In 2016, the mileage of the Porsche 356 was 1 million miles (1.6 million km), and in four years, Newmark and his son dashed off another 200 thousand miles, “finishing” the odometer to almost 2 million kilometers. For all the time of ownership, Newmark did not get into the engine, and only changed the oil, antifreeze and pumped up the tires.

LADA Priora – 515 thousand km

Domestic drivers do not drive as much as in America, but they also have their own records. In 2019, a Lada Priora with a mileage of 515,000 kilometers was sold in Tatarstan for 110,000 conditional units. The owner noted that there were no problems with the car. The key to success was the same as for Americans who own a Porsche: regular oil changes and quality repairs.

Lada Granta – 966 thousand km

In the same year, a curious Lada Granta “surfaced” on one of the online platforms. In trade-in, the car was given with a mileage of 966 thousand km. It was noted that the car has never seen a major overhaul (and intervention in the engine in general), and was used first by elderly parents, and then by a young couple.
