Ford “refresh” Kuga: the first image of the updated crossover
The restyled SUV of the American brand is expected to be presented in the fall of 2022.
Ford vehicles left the current market in 2019, and sales continue in Europe. Consequently, the Kuga crossover, which replaced the generation in 2019 itself, is in relatively stable demand here. It should be noted that at the end of last year, dealer centers of the Old World sold 80,177 SUVs (50.4% less than a year earlier). In 2021, the dynamics returned to the “plus”: in January-August (unfortunately, more recent data), buyers purchased 77,116 units, which is 75.4% more than in the first eight months of last year.

Now the American manufacturer continues to update its models sold in the European market. So, in a few months, production of the “refreshed” Ford Fiesta and Focus will begin. Subsequently, the turn of the Kuga SUV will come, the company is already developing an updated version. Such a machine is expected to be introduced in autumn 2023.
At the moment, there is no official information about how the appearance of the crossover will change. Then the artists have the opportunity to fantasize about the appearance of the novelty. The designer of the Spanish publication motor.es presented his idea of what the Ford Kuga SUV will look like after the update. The rendering is based on spy shots of the prototype cross (here the model is known as the Escape).

Judging by the image, the crossover will be “adapted” to the current corporate identity. You will get full LED headlights with narrower headlights. Visually, the optics will be combined with a large radiator grille, which will receive a different, more oval shape. The “grid” motif is made in the form of large honeycombs, in the center is the brand logo in the form of the famous “blue oval”. In addition, the car is likely to change the design of the hood and front bumper.
The stern of the “refreshed” Ford Kuga, as well as its interior, have not yet been shown. It is expected that new materials will be used in the decoration of the SUV, in addition, the models plan to expand the list of equipment, including through new driving assistants. The salon will receive a modern virtual “tidy” and another touch screen larger than that of the multimedia system.

According to preliminary data, the Ford Kuga engine lineup will be shaken during the update, the company is likely to pay special attention to hybrids – they should improve autonomy in a purely electric mode (the power of the power plants will most likely remain the same).
Recall that the current Kuga SUV, presented on the European market, is equipped with diesel engines (1.5 l, 120 hp) and gasoline (1.0 l, 95 hp); as well as a pair of “mild hybrid” engines based on the latter (their power is 125 and 155 hp). The pair offers “mechanics” or automatic. Now the price of the current Ford Kuga in one of the largest markets of the old world, Germany, starts at 24,400 euros (approximately 2.02 million conventional units at the current exchange rate).
