On the eve of the premiere of the updated Skoda Karoq: the crossover appeared on the video
The “refreshed” SUV of the Czech brand will debut at the end of this month, November 30th. The model will be updated four years after the market launch.
The Skoda brand, part of the German concern Volkswagen, introduced its compact crossover Karoq in 2017. So far, 2019 remains the peak year for the model, with 105,041 units sold by Old World dealers, up 33.2% from the previous year. During covid 2020, buyers bought 82,121 units. (21.8% less). This year, the SUV has a symbolic “plus”: 60,561 units were sold in January-September, which is 1.2% more than in the first three quarters of last year.
Now the company is preparing an updated version of the Skoda Karoq, the online presentation will take place next week, November 30th. Previously, the Czech brand shared its design sketches with the brand of the future compact SUV, and now released a video that allows you to evaluate the appearance of the car “live.
As we noted earlier, during the planned update, the crossover received the correct front end. We are talking, among other things, about the optics of the cylinder head of different shapes: now the LED daytime running lights are divided into two parts, in addition, the shape of the blocks placed under them has changed. The SUV also received a more massive grille, modified bumpers, an extended aft spoiler and narrower taillights.

The company has not yet declassified the interior of the “refreshed” model. True, changes here, most likely, will be much less. Presumably, Skoda will make do with other trim materials and a modern version of the infotainment system.
There is no official information that the “stuffing” of the Skoda Karoq will change during the update. According to preliminary data, the same technology will remain in the crossover, but there is a possibility that the SUV will turn into a so-called “mild” hybrid. Recall that in the old world market, the current Karok is offered with a pair of gasoline engines: a “turbo engine” 1.0 TSI (110 hp) and a “turbo-quattro” 1.5 TSI (150 hp), in addition, there are 2.0-liter diesel TDI (power – 116 or 150 hp).

Recall that the model has been presented recently: a compact crossover entered our market at the beginning of last year. The domestically assembled SUV (produced in Nizhny Novgorod at the GAZ Group plants) is equipped with an atmospheric engine 1.6 MPI (110 hp) or 1.4 TSI turbo quattro (150 hp). It is worth noting that today this model remains one of the bestsellers in the state: in the first ten months of this year, dealers sold 16,184 units, which is 34% more than in January-October 2020.
It is expected that sales of the updated compact crossover Skoda Karoq in Europe will begin in December this year. But a lot of users will probably have to wait, because you need to keep in mind that we sell locally made cars. A similar story happened with the Skoda Kodiaq, which was previously restyled.
