Is it worth it to buy a Niva at all? The most truthful monologue.
Niva in our country is a workhorse that does its job perfectly. She is an indispensable assistant in the villages, the best friend of hunters and a real rescuer of those who are stuck in the snowdrifts of our uncleaned yards. Today I want to talk about my opinion on whether it is worth buying a Niva at all. I want to dot who should buy a Niva, and who should never get involved.
Everything that you read below is my personal opinion, which can be challenged by already seasoned Nivavods. It is based on my personal operating experience, so I welcome criticism. As they say, long live s*h in the comments.
About the pros
-
What is Niva? This is an off road vehicle. It has everything – permanent four-wheel drive, locking center differential and low gears. This set is quite enough for a relaxing trip where there are practically no roads. There is no doubt about this. This car is capable of a lot, and where the rest of the “crossovers” sit on its belly, a light, frameless Soviet SUV rushes like a tank. Plus, you don't care about the weather.
-
The second nice thing is the service. There are spare parts for the Niva almost everywhere, wherever you are – in all city spare parts stores, in any country, whether you are in Germany or Poland or even in a neighboring village, where they will give you anything for a bottle of vodka. The prevalence of this machine has done its job – your Niva will definitely not stand. But the most pleasant bonus is that the parts are really inexpensive.
-
The third moment — an endless field for tuning. The machine is quite simple and at the same time crude. Therefore, those who like to improve or refine something – here you have a whole field for creativity. What only Niv you will not meet on the Internet!
There are some other advantages, you can add in the comments. This is not just an article. This is a discussion.
Paradoxical cons
- Remember, I said that parts are cheap and available everywhere. And now I will say that they are expensive. It's all about relativity. When buying one VAZ product, in relation to others, Niva is more expensive to maintain than a Zhiguli. And only against the background of foreign cars, its spare parts are really inexpensive. In addition, the degree of this high cost is directly proportional to how much you scoff at the car off-road. Situations are different and once in a real natural trap, you can fly into a really big repair even for Niva.
- There is no comfort in Niva. Of course, modern samples have already acquired air conditioning, but still, Niva is Niva and there is no point in talking about good sound insulation, pleasant little things and other things. If in the same Pajero there is everything, then in the Niva there is absolutely nothing. This will have to get used to.
- Motor. Nivovsky engine — this is a real sadness. There is absolutely no acceleration dynamics and against this background it has a very high fuel consumption. This is one of the arguments that the Niva is an expensive car. Now you have to pay a lot for gasoline. In this case, the return will be less than you want.
- The Niva also does not have a trunk. This is very sad, given that the car is positioned as a car for going out into the countryside. What kind of rest can we talk about if there is no trunk from the word at all. There is only one way out – to buy an expeditionary trunk. It gives a brutal look, allows you to put everything you need, but there is a risk of throwing mud at everything that you are carrying in it.
