According to preliminary data, the “barn” of the model may enter the market in 2024: a few months after the launch of the new generation sedan.

The Italian brand Maserati is currently owned by the auto giant Stellantis. The Quattroporte executive sedan has been produced since 1963, with interruptions in a total of six generations of the model. The current generation car appeared in 2013. The next sedan is currently in development and is expected to be introduced in 2024.

Sales of the premium four-door have been declining since 2016. So, according to the results of the “covid” last year, dealers in Europe sold only 116 copies, which is 53.8% less than a year earlier. This year, the niche model indicator has increased: the result for January-July was 71 units, which is 29.1% more than in the first seven months of 2020. By comparison, customers bought 815 Quattroportes in 2015.

It is assumed that the seventh generation Quattroporte sedan will not only have a different design, but also innovations in terms of technology, as well as a rich list of modern equipment. However, this is not all that the brand can surprise its fans with. It is expected that the Quattroporte will become a family, which in addition to the sedan will also include a station wagon.

It is curious that in translation from Italian “quattro porte” literally translates as “four-door”. So the name Maserati Quattroporte SW, if the company stops at this option, will be at least comical. In general, the decision itself – to create a sports premium “shed” looks logical – there is a fairly stable demand for such cars in the market. It is expected that this version will find its audience in Central Europe and the States.

There is no information about what the station wagon of this Maserati model will look like yet. So far, the novelty is at the earliest stages of development. The designer of the Spanish edition of motor.es offered his own version of the appearance of the Quattroporte SW (for now, let's dwell on this version of the name). It is expected that its exterior will be decorated in a more aggressive style compared to the current Quattroporte. The front part will probably not differ from the “four-door” of the next generation (there is no information about it yet either).

Of course, there are no, even tentative, data on the price of the future novelty of the Italian brand now. It is possible that the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo will compete with the “barn” Maserati. Its current price tag in the home market, in Germany, starts at 101,830 euros (equivalent to approximately 8.84 million conventional units at the current exchange rate).

There is also no information about the technology of the future new sedan and station wagon Maserati Quattroporte. Considering that the cars are designed for the actively “green” old-world market, we can assume that the model will receive at least a hybrid, and most likely, a fully electric “stuffing”. Most likely, by 2024, the current V6 and V8 engines, which are equipped with the current “four-door”, will be a thing of the past.
