Mercedes-Benz GLS 2019 – a new generation of Mercedes GLS

The new model Mercedes GLS 2019 was declassified online a few days before the world premiere at the New York International Auto Show, opening on April 17, 2019. In the preliminary review of the Mercedes-Benz GLS 2019-2020 – news, photos, equipment and price, equipment and technical specifications of the Mercedes-Benz GLS in a new body, a full-size 7-seater SUV.

The exact release date and price of the new generation of the Mercedes GLS is not yet announced by the manufacturer, but according to preliminary information, global sales will start in the fall of 2019 at a price of 80000-82000 euros in the homeland of the Mercedes-Benz brand in Germany.

I want to say that the Mercedes GLS in a new body will debut at the New York Auto Show in company with the luxurious Mercedes-Maybach GLS. Both full-size crossovers were created with an eye on the main competitor of the BMW X7 and, according to preliminary estimates, exceed the Bavarian crossover in every respect.

By the way, the new Mercedes-Benz GLS has a modern and stylish exterior body design, settled in the family style of the German manufacturer, and outwardly was very similar to the younger brothers Mercedes-Benz GLE and Mercedes-Benz GLC. However, the flagship Mercedes crossover with the GLS index looks much more solid and representative than the GLE and GLC models.

The full-sized SUV flaunts a powerful foreground sculpture with a majestic hood, large LED headlights, a massive false radiator grille and aft bumper.
The body side panel attracts attention with its elegant ductility and charming edges. Arsenal also cut huge wheel arches, high side window sills, a smooth roof line, supported in the rear on a powerful stand.

Feeding a large crossover with an overall body length of 5200 mm looks light and airy thanks to the tailgate with an original kick, horizontally positioned taillights with LEDs and a simply stuffing rear bumper, complemented by a line of exhaust tips.

The body of the new Mercedes-Benz GLS 2019 is richly decorated with chrome decorative elements, which does not prevent the new product from looking more aristocratic than the main competitor of the BMW X7. It's also worth adding that the Mercedes GLS wheelbase size is as much as 3137mm to 32mm longer than BMW's flagship crossover.

The interior of the new generation Mercedes-Benz GLS is by default 7-seater and can comfortably accommodate the driver and six of his companions. The front of the GLS model cabins exactly the same as the junior GLE crossover. Thus, in the presence of a multifunctional steering wheel with a touchpad on the hub, an MBUX infotainment complex with two 12.3-inch displays, a neat four-zone climate control control unit, a powerful central tunnel with handrails, driver and front passenger seats with every conceivable option, an entertainment system for passengers in the rear, a large panoramic roof… equipment for the Mercedes GLS, the list goes on for a very long time. We know the S-class sedan with super rich equipment and high quality materials.

The new Mercedes GLS generation of the MGA modular platform (Mercedes high architecture) has fully independent front and rear suspension circuits (two front arm architectures, and a rear multi-link). The default is Airmatic air suspension, and for an extra charge, hydrodynamic active electronic suspension is active body control (the cylinder to each wheel is controlled by a 48-volt electrical system).

For the Mercedes-Benz GLS is available with a wide range of production gasoline engines and turbocharged diesel engines, including versions equipped with a mild hybrid system (motor-generator boost equalizer, powered by a 48-volt on-board network), only one transmission – 9G-Tronic (9-speed manual), 4Matic all-wheel drive.

Mercedes-Benz GLS 400 4MATIC and D (330 hp).

Petrol version of Mercedes GLS 2019-2020:

Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 4Matic and (367 HP).

Of course, there will also be a powerful AMG version of the new 4.0 V8 twin-turbo petrol engines with maximum efficiency under 600 hp.
