SUV Nissan Armada received an update
It was expected that the restyled version of Armada, first of all, will surprise with changes in the technical part, however, under the hood of the SUV, the same naturally aspirated 5.6-liter V8 Endurance engine remained. Power has been changed, with the naturally aspirated 2021 Armada engine delivering 406bhp. (+11 hp compared to the first generation) and 506 Nm of torque (+26 Nm). The engine will be paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission. The drive will be offered in two versions – rear (2WD) or all-wheel drive (Auto 4WD), with a plug-in step-down transmission. The choice of the buyer is offered three available classes – SV, SL and Platinum.
By the way, the Land Cruiser was once considered the main competitor of the Nissan Armada, and according to auto experts, the first lost in terms of its technical characteristics to the premium Japanese. Now, even the most powerful Land Cruiser with a 309 hp engine. will be forced to give up the leading position in the “battle of engines”. Also, according to the Nissan design group, in the future, Armada will get a 9-speed gearbox, which will be inherited from the Titan pickup truck – when this happens, it is not reported, most likely, it is worth waiting for the generation change and the decision made by the management on cardinal changes and improvements.
The exterior of the restyled Nissan Armada received improvements in the frontal zone – the V-shaped radiator grille became noticeably wider, the LED headlights “deserved” a block of 70 LEDs as the basis, and the tailgate was decorated with a chrome-plated line. Styling changes also affected the hood, front fenders, front and rear bumpers and taillights. Keeping the principle of conciseness in the design, the logo of the brand has also been updated. Despite the fact that the views of global automakers are now directed towards the touch option, Nissan is in no hurry to change.
So, most of the physical buttons in the restyled Armada remained in the same place, but the modern multimedia system still fell into the trend – the main 12.3-inch monitor became touch-sensitive and located above the center console, and a pair of 8-inch monitors of the “family” entertainment system located on the second row (an option available for the top-end Platinum configuration). Also added is the function of wireless smartphone charging and connection using built-in Wi-Fi, both with wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto. In general, the interior received an improved finish, and for an additional fee it will be possible to install the Midnight Edition interior special package.
The start of sales is scheduled for 2021, at the same time prices and equipment for the new SUV will be announced. It also does not rule out the possibility that the new Nissan Armada will come to the market.
