The new 2017 Infiniti Axis Q60 series is a new generation of sports cars
The new generation of the 2016 and 2017 model year Infiniti Axis Q60 sports coupe will be unveiled at the 2016 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Infiniti's new Axis Q60 sportcoupe model will go on sale in America in the early summer of this year, with the latest model coming in fall 2016. The price of the new generation Japanese premium car will be known only before the start of sales. In the meantime, we offer you to get acquainted with the technical characteristics and specifications of the new Infiniti Axis Q60 series in order to evaluate the exterior and interior of new products with official photo and video materials.
The bodywork of the new Infiniti Q60 coupe is almost exactly the same as the exterior of the Infiniti Axis Q60 series concept unveiled at last year's Detroit auto show. The production version of the Japanese coupe received more traditional mirrors and door handles, less extravagant front and rear bumpers, but the overall concept of the flamboyant sports car survived.
We will not fully describe the body of new items, but only focus on the most interesting design projects. At the front of the body is the signature trapezoidal grille and LED headlights with dual curve LED daytime running lights.
The side surfaces of the body, like a fluid movement model coupe, so powerful and sporty, it seems, the edges and curves of the car body. There's also a light, almost airy roof with weightless columns, curvaceous wheel arches filled with 19-inch aluminum wheels with low-profile tires (20-inch wheels are optional).
On the rear trunk lid with a majestic lock tab, a neat drop of taillights with original LED graphics and a powerful bumper with tailpipe tips.
- The external dimensions of the body of the new Infiniti Axis Q60 series 2016-2017 are 4683 mm long, 1850 mm wide and 1385 mm high, with a 2850 mm wheelbase.
- The drag coefficient of the body is 0.28 CX coupe (the Infiniti Q50 sedan and aerodynamic performance is slightly better – CX 0.26).
Infiniti chief designer Alfonso Albaisa describes the new coupe as an elegant vehicle with muscular looks and a powerful character.
The store is a new four-seater with elegant ergonomic driver and front passenger seats, providing excellent support for the back and hips to properly distribute the load on the spine and a comfortable rear sofa. High quality genuine leather is used as materials, decorative inserts made of aluminum or even wood, you can even order carbon fiber decor.
The driver is shown an exemplary ergonomic layout of controls, excellent visibility and an almost perfect fit. And it cannot be otherwise, because the developers tried to create the interior of the Infiniti Ku 60 as better than its main competitor, the German coupe BMW 4-series.
Already in the basic configuration of the new Infiniti Q60 coupe is an informative instrument panel with a large color screen, an on-board computer, a multifunctional steering wheel, a double touch screen in Infiniti's color touch on the center console (navigation, a Bose audio system with 13 speakers, a rear view camera), a dual-zone climate control, front seats with electric adjustment, heating and ventilation.
Available as options are Around Gaze Monitor System (Around), Intelligent Cruise Control with Distance Control Radar (Adaptive Cruise Control with Remote Steering Assist), Brake Assist with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Warning, Blind Spot Intervention and Backup Collisions, intervention, sports suspension with electronically controlled adaptive dampers, adaptive steering with six different settings (Eco, Standard, tune, snow, sport and sport+).
Specifications of the new Infiniti Axis Q60 2016-2017 sports coupe: under the hood of the novelty there can be one of three options for gasoline engines, paired with 7 automatic transmissions.
- The first four-cylinder turbocharged 2.0-liter (211 hp 350 Nm).
More expensive versions of the new coupe will receive a new petrol 3.0 V6 twin-turbo (VR30), equipped with two turbochargers in two power options:
- 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 (300 hp 400 Nm).
- 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 (400 hp and 475 Nm).
In the basic version, the new Infiniti Ku 60 sports car with a 2.0-liter engine with rear-wheel drive, a powerful coupe version with a 3.0-liter engine with all-wheel drive (AWD), the main feature of which is the transmission of 100% of torque to the rear wheels under normal driving conditions. When the rear axle slips, the torque is divided between the axles 50:50. All-wheel drive will allow the entire volume to realize the excellent performance of the new twin-turbo V6 petrol engine and the well-tuned suspension and steering add to the premium Japanese coupe excitement and sportiness.
