Volvo V60 cross-country 2019 – a new all-terrain station wagon with a clearance of 210 mm
The new all-terrain station wagon Volvo B60 cross-country is officially presented on September 25, 2018 on the eve of the world premiere at the auto show in Paris. In our review of the Volvo V60 cross-country 2018-2019 – photos and videos, price and full technical specifications raised above the road station wagon with 210 mm clearance, standard all-wheel drive and a plastic protective suit along the lower perimeter of the body. The new default is the brother of Volvo's regular V60 station wagon, unveiled in the spring of 2018 at the Geneva Motor Show.
Production of the new Volvo V60 cross-country will begin at the end of 2018 at the Torslanda company in the Swedish city of Gothenburg. Orders for the “shestidesyati” wagon and cross-country consoles in Europe will open in early 2019 at a price of 52,350 euros for a Volvo V60 diesel on cross-country D4 AVD (190-horsepower turbo diesel, 8 automatic transmissions and all-wheel drive). It is gratifying that, unlike the regular Volvo V60 station wagon, whose sales have recently been scheduled, the raised Volvo V60 station wagon on cross-country will appear on the current market, and possibly in the spring of 2019.
Just need to find the differences between the regular wagon version of the V60 sports wagon and the V60 cross country:
- first, it has of course increased the ground clearance by 75mm to an impressive figure of 210mm;
- secondly, a powerful plastic body kit around the perimeter of the “shestidesyati” body over rough terrain, protection of the lower part of the front and rear bumpers, the edges of the wheel arches and thresholds from minor damage when driving off-road;
- third, the rear bumper is additionally provided with a powerful protective chrome and bifurcated exhaust pipe, making the trapezoidal exhaust pipes ordinary universal;
- Fourthly, the all-terrain station wagon comes standard with 18-inch rims with 215/55 R18 tires (more 19-20 inches with tires and 235/45 R19 245/40 R20 tires are available for an additional fee).
These are details that can be easily seen when viewed from the outside of the new body. However, there are many other improvements that are not visible to the eye. Based on the all-terrain vehicle Volvo V60 cross-country lies a modular SPA platform, brings novelty not only with brothers – the Volvo V60 station wagon and Volvo S60 and station wagon, but with the Volvo XC60 and Volvo XC90 crossovers and larger Volvo models – the Volvo S90 sedan, V90 in the van and a Volvo crossover model Volvo V90 in cross-country.
So with an eye to Volvo's big brother V90 in cross-country, got a ton of chassis improvements over the regular 90-series station wagons, it's 100% certain that the Volvo V60 cross-country suspension has improved a lot compared to the Volvo station wagon chassis V60 on.
The all-terrain station wagon is equipped with original springs, shock absorbers and stabilizers, which can ensure comfortable and stable behavior of the car on all types of roads with various surfaces. Adaptive dampers and air suspension are available for an additional fee. In four-wheel drive and AWD, the off-road mode is set in the driving electronics parameters.
The five-seat saloon is raised above the expensive Volvo V60 station wagon on the run – this is exactly the same decoration of the interior – it is the usual Volvo V60 station wagon on expensive models. Standard interior “shestidesyati” cross-country combination of fabric and artificial leather seats (for an extra charge of full leather seat trim), virtual instrument panel, advanced multimedia complex developed by Volvo Sensus system connect infotainment system with 9.5-inch color touch screen (Apple CarPlay and Android-Auto, Business Center, 4-zone climate control Eta), comfortable seats for the driver and front passenger (electric, heated, ventilated, massage).
By default, the car is equipped with an automatic braking system when pedestrians, cyclists and animals are detected. As an option, it provides the pilot with assistance, running at speeds up to 130 mph (the car is parked in an alley and will not allow you to drive into the oncoming lane or onto the side of the road), as well as the automatic braking system is activated when obstacles are detected in cross traffic at intersections.
Technical characteristics of the Volvo V60 cross-country 2018-2019.
From the very beginning of sales of all-terrain vehicles, the new station wagon will be offered in two versions.
Diesel Volvo V60 on cross-country D4 AVD with 190-horsepower turbocharged diesel engine, 8 automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
Diesel Volvo V60 on cross-country T5 AWD with a 254-horsepower turbo engine, 8 automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
Perhaps closer to the summer of 2019, a more powerful 310-horsepower petrol version of the Volvo V60 on cross-country T6 AWD, and hybrid versions, the Volvo V60 on cross-country T6 with an all-wheel drive system with two engines (340 hp) and Volvo V60 cross-country AED T8 twin engine (390 hp).
