Toyota is preparing a small urban crossover: the first image of the BZ1 SUV
According to preliminary data, the new subcompact electric SUV from the Japanese brand will appear in 2025.
The Japanese company continues to develop its own line of electric vehicles: the brand intends to cover all segments of the car market with its "green" models. Previously, Toyota introduced the bZ4X SUV, created in partnership with Subaru: both cars are based on a modular platform that Toyota calls e-TNGA (and Subaru calls e-SGP). The serial version of this crossover, comparable in size to the RAV4, was shown by the manufacturer at the end of October last year.

As previously stated by the company, by 2030 it is planned to launch 13 all-electric models. This plan is part of the "Beyond Zero" strategy: remember, this name is intended to emphasize that such machines have zero emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere. With new products, most of which are still in development, Toyota plans to maintain its position as the global market leader as electrification reaches higher levels.
One of the future novelties of the electric line of the brand will be the subcompact urban crossover Toyota bZ1. It is assumed that this model will become a completely "battery" alternative to the small SUV Toyota Aygo X. These SUVs will have similar dimensions, proportions and partial design, although, most likely, the design of the front and rear of the novelty will be made in a new corporate style created for " green" family.

There is no official information about what the Toyota bZ1 city SUV will look like yet. Thus, the artists had the opportunity to offer their own options for the appearance of the future electric car. Thus, the designer of the Spanish edition of motor.es decided to bring his vision of the novelty closer to the public.

Judging by the render, the electric car will have a very small plug instead of the traditional grille. It will narrowly connect horizontally elongated LED headlights. A fairly large air intake is built into the lower part of the front bumper. Despite the compactness of the model, it is expected that there will be enough space for the driver and passengers in the cabin (probably, this will be facilitated by a flat floor).

It is expected that all future Toyota electric vehicles created under the Beyond Zero project will be based on the e-TGNA platform. According to preliminary information, only front-wheel drive versions are required for a city SUV, that is, there will be an electric motor and it will be placed, respectively, on the front axle (the return is not yet known). The small crossover is likely to be equipped with a 35 to 45 kWh battery pack and have a maximum range of around 300 km.
The publication also named the approximate cost of a Toyota city SUV in Europe: the cost of bZ1 is expected to vary from 15,000 to 20,000 euros (equivalent to about 1.31 million – 1.74 million conventional units at the current exchange rate). Note that the price of the old-world Toyota bZ4X has not yet been named, sales of this “electric SUV" will start in the middle of this year.
