Perhaps so, but here, of course, the taste and color, as they say. Mikhail from Odintsovo (Our country) became the owner of Troika in 2014. I got a car from my own grandfather, who was the sole owner and drove for almost 40 years in St. Petersburg. He bought it new (year of issue 1974) for 7600 conditional units. Grandpa was very caring about 2103, because before it was a real luxury. I had to give up a lot then to become the owner of such a car. Mikhail remembers how his grandmother always scolded his grandfather if he was driving at a speed of more than 100 km/h. "Troika" was constantly stored in the garage, and in winter it was rarely used, only on urgent matters. Washing was exclusively manual. Eventually, mileage was for such a long service life of only 113,000 kilometers. Rather modest, but the car still managed to get a little “tired", after all, time makes itself felt. Then 2012 came, the VAZ-2103 was no longer used, at all. For 2 years the car stood in the garage, without movement. And so, the very same year 2014 came, Mikhail decided to take his grandfather’s "Troika" for himself so that the car would not simply disappear. When the guy opened the garage, he immediately remembered the same carrot color, only everything was covered in dust. Surprisingly, the engine was able to start immediately. Of course, no one was going to sell Grandfather’s car, after all, this is already a family copy, which I wanted to take care of and take care of. Mikhail, on the other hand, was going to update everything in the Troika as much as possible, but without the “collective farm”. Remove all unnecessary (for example, a roof rack, side mirrors, all sorts of little things in the cabin, etc.). By the way, the guy drove almost 700 kilometers in just 9 hours. The consumption was approximately 8.5 liters per 100 kilometers, the average speed was 110 km / h. In general, the condition could be assessed as a solid four, but it was necessary to remove the “fatigue” so that the VAZ-2102 would sparkle again. Mikhail began to slowly but surely restore. Walked through the technical part, replaced consumables and a couple of spare parts, but all the little things. In the cabin, cleaned everything from the accumulated dust. All chrome elements have been refurbished, now they looked like brand new. This also applies to the paintwork, the body was painted in the same carrot color. Mikhail did all the main work, there were some little things left, but everything is 95% ready. It’s cool that the guy didn’t leave the car and decided to take care of it, to improve everything in a positive way. Grandfather brought the VAZ-2103 to a decent state, for this there is more respect and long operation.
