Daring “state employees”: the new Nissan Juke-R

15

Ten years ago, the Japanese company introduced the prototype Juke-R, calling it “the world's first crossover supercar.” What would such a car look like today?

The Juke compact SUV appeared in the range of the Japanese brand in 2010, becoming the production version of the Nissan Qazana concept, demonstrated a year earlier at the Geneva Motor Show. In 2012, the premiere of the first “hot” crossover Juke-R took place, which was equipped with an engine from a sports GT-R – V6 3.8 with a capacity of 485 hp, which was equipped with a 6-speed robotic gearbox with two clutches. This allowed the SUV to accelerate to 100 km / h in just 3.7 seconds. In 2015, the company showed a modified version of the model, called the Juke-R 2.0 (by the way, the online magazine kolesa.ru even did a test drive of this car). It was equipped with an engine from the GT-R Nismo, which already developed 600 hp. Finally, in autumn from 2 to 19?

The crossover presented in the renders received a new front bumper with a large air intake at the bottom, as well as a modified radiator grille with additional slots on the sides. There were door sills with a narrow decorative strip at the bottom, the same as on the bumpers – the current GT-R Nismo sports car has a similar one. The rear bumper is also new, it has 4 round exhaust pipes and a diffuser in the central part. An additional rear roof spoiler appeared, and the crossover is also shown with new wheels.

Like the model based on the first generation, the new Juke-R may have been inspired by the GT-R (R35) sports car. By the way, this is one of the centenarians of the modern automotive market, since its premiere took place back in 2007. Since then, the coupe has received several updates, and in its current form the model has been produced since 2016. It has already been mentioned that the GT-R is equipped with a 3.8 6-cylinder gasoline engine with two turbochargers. Today's sports car in the base produces 570 hp and 633 Nm of torque, and the most powerful modification of the Nismo – 600 hp and 652 Nm. It is worth mentioning the special anniversary version of the GT-R50, which received the original Italdesign body and a modified engine, the output of which is 720 hp and 780 Nm of torque. A total of 50 such cars were produced.

Today, the Nissan Juke has not been officially introduced lately, although the first generation model was a real success in our market for some time: for example, in 2014, almost 20.5 thousand copies were sold. The Qashqai SUV has recently been sold in a similar edition.

As a reminder, earlier this month we talked about the experience of owning a 2005 Nissan 350Z Coupe with 280 horsepower.
