Land Rover Defender 130: new images

This week, the first spy photos of the longest version of the new Defender were published on the Web, so we have the opportunity to more accurately reproduce its appearance.

The premiere of the new generation of the British SUV took place in the fall of 2019. To date, the model is presented in two versions – a five-door with an index of 110 and a short-wheelbase 3-door with an index of 90. These numbers were also used in the designation of modifications of the previous generation of the SUV and corresponded to the length of the wheelbase in inches. Replenishment is expected in the model range soon – the largest 130th version will appear. By the way, the classic Defender also had a version with such an index, however, in accordance with the original idea, these figures related to the distance between the axles – this car was a long-wheelbase four-door pickup truck.

The new Defender breaks that tradition as the 130 will have exactly the same wheelbase (3022mm, roughly 118 inches) as the 110. The SUV is expected to be 5100mm long, 342mm more than the 110. th. Accordingly, the entire increase will go to the rear overhang, which will become very massive, and this will allow the third row of seats to be placed in the cabin. As a result of these changes, the new 130th will be more similar in proportion to the previous generation Defender 110 (its photos are below in the gallery). It is likely that such a modification will replace the Discovery SUV in the model range, which also has three rows, but is the company's least demanded model.

The English SUV is built on the new D7x platform and has a load-bearing body, while the previous Defender was a frame one. The 130th modification will most likely receive most of the engines already offered for smaller counterparts – gasoline and diesel engines of the Ingenium family, as well as a hybrid modification of the P400 PHEV (P400e).

The premiere of new items may take place next year.

Land Rover Defender 110 previous generation

Today, prices for the new Defender have recently started at 4,634,000 conventional units – for this money a 5-door version of the 110 with a 2-liter 200-horsepower diesel engine in the Standard package is offered. The most expensive version of the P525 is equipped with a 5-liter V8 with a capacity of 525 hp, such an SUV is estimated at 9,708,000 conditional units. The minimum price of a “three-door” with an index of 90 and the aforementioned 200-horsepower diesel engine in the SE configuration is 5,124,000 conventional units.
