Lifan H70 2018 is the successor to the Lifan X60 crossover

The new crossover Lifan X70 will come to the market in the spring of 2018 and will replace the Lifan X60 model in the Lifan Motors model line in the domestic market. The first novelty came to the meeting from Russian auto journalists and dealers for a special test drive of the new Lifan X70 in the city of Lijiang, located in southern China. I would like to note that the new SUV brand Lifan X70 at home goes under the original name Lifan Pengfei.

The external body design of the X70 compact crossover is not particularly distinguished from other competitors in the class. The attractive appearance of the novelty shows notes of borrowing from the Haval and Hyundai crossover brands. Then, as they say, it won't go anywhere. Many models of modern crossovers are devoid of individuality, and to a noticeable extent even copy each other.

However, the Chinese New Car looks simple but organic. The front end with wide-spaced headlights, a solid trapezoidal grille and a powerful bumper complement the stylish body kit and foglights in deep boxes.

The side of the body of the car, as befits a modern model, is on trend: disc wheel arches, edges and curves on the sides, sloping towards the rear roof with a fashionable floating bar.

The back of the body does not at first glance seem empty and insipid, but if you look closely, with interest it is strict marker lights, a large trunk, with an original relief and vyshtampovkoy, which Lifan says, a heavy bumper made of unpainted plastic with horizontal fog lights and exhaust tips pipes.

The dimensions of the body of the new X70 model are slightly increased compared to the body dimensions of the X60 crossover. The length has not changed, the width increase is 30 mm, the height is 25 mm, the distance between the axles has increased by 20 mm, but the interior has become noticeably larger and more comfortable. A particularly large margin of space will benefit passengers in the rear seats. And loading an additional volume of cargo is not much, only 14 liters (with the standard position of the backrests of the second row of seats 419 liters).

The ergonomics of the driver's seat is not ideal, but the steering column is adjustable in height, comfortable seats with thick padding and a fairly long pillow, the dashboard is informative (different divisions are somewhat embarrassing) with analog speedometer and tachometer scales, as well as a color display on-board computer.

For a test drive, the manufacturer presented a well-equipped version of the Lifan X70 with leather seat trim, a power driver's seat, heated front seats, a multifunctional steering wheel, a multimedia system with a 9-inch color touch screen (multimedia, navigation, friendship with smartphones), electric power windows on all doors, mirrors, with LED turn signal lights, electric adjustment, heated and auto-add, keyless entry and push-button engine start/stop, 6 airbags, ABS, ESP and bass climate control, cruise control control, assistant when starting uphill and other little things. It is clear that the main Lifan X70 is equipped with a less saturated one.

In the technique of the new Chinese crossover Lifan X70, this is a fairly simple and low cost. At the heart of the new upgraded Lifan X60 truck with a fully independent suspension architecture (McPherson strut front, multi-link rear). I want to note that the energy-intensive suspension and comfortable, which allows you to confidently move on roads with poor coverage, and impressive ground clearance will allow you to move off the hard asphalt. That's just front-wheel drive by default, and, apparently, an all-wheel drive version of the novelty is not planned even in the long term. The brakes of all wheels are disc, but not informative enough and tenacious.

Under the hood of the new Chinese budget crossover is only (so far at least) a four-cylinder 2.0-liter gasoline engine (141 hp 185 Nm). The engine is aggregated with a 5 manual gearbox, which allows you to dial the first hundred in 13.8 seconds, and a maximum speed of 180 km / h, fuel consumption with “mechanics” in mixed mode is 7.7 liters. As an option, you can order a continuously variable variator: acceleration dynamics from 0 to 100 km / h in 14.3 seconds, top speed 175 km / h, average fuel consumption of 8.4 liters.
