Porsche 911 Convertible 2019 – New Porsche 911 Convertible Series 992

The Porsche 911 Convertible Series 992 is officially unveiled on January 9, 2019, just a month and a half after the world premiere of the Porsche 911 Coupe with factory index 992 at the Los Angeles Auto Show at the end of last 2018. The new open version of the German sports car will hit the market in the summer of 2019 in two versions – the rear-wheel drive Porsche 911 Carrera S Convertible and the all-wheel drive Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Convertible, with a price of 134,405 and 142,259 euros, respectively (the cost of a car in Germany). The current price tag for the new Porsche 911 Convertible has not yet been officially announced, but with an eye on the €14,280 sign for a convertible, the rear-wheel-drive Porsche 911 Carrera S Convertible will be worth no less than 8,660,000 conventional units in recent times.

In technical terms, the new Porsche 911 Convertible does not differ from the Porsche 911 Coupe, the new 992 series. Both the coupe and the convertible received a wider front and rear wheel track and a wider body than its predecessor, the Porsche 911 991 series. The new convertible has matrix LED headlights, different rims (20-inch front and 21-inch rear), aluminum exterior body panels, sliding door handles, a large movable spoiler, and of course a powerful 450-horsepower 3.0-liter petrol boxer engine with turbo boost.

In this case for the new Porsche 911 Cabriolet, for the first time, adaptive shock absorbers are available as an option in the company with short and stiff springs (clearance is 10 mm less than cars with conventional suspension). The cabriolet body is significantly reinforced compared to the coupe, due to which the curb weight of the soft-top Porsche 911 is 70 kg more than the two-door hard-top coupe, and reaches a minimum of 1585 kg.

The main difference between the convertible and the Porsche 911 coupe, the Porsche 911, of course, is the roof structure. The open version of the Porsche 911 will feature a magnesium-alloy framed soft top with glass for better rearward visibility. The new electrically operated hydraulic roof mechanism is capable of fully removing or raising the soft top in just 12 seconds at speeds up to 50 mph.

The interior of the convertible is exactly the same. There's the latest digital instrument cluster with an analog tachometer dial, a comfortable multi-function steering wheel, a large up to 10.9-inch color touchscreen infotainment system, a new, perfectly contoured seat for driver and front passenger side-impact shock, dual-zone automatic climate control, and more super advanced equipment, greatly facilitating the management of sports cars.

The German company Porsche has opened the acceptance of orders for a new convertible in Germany. For car enthusiasts, two versions of the new Porsche 911 Carrera s Cabriolet with rear-wheel drive and the Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet all-wheel drive are currently available. Both cars are equipped with a 3.0-liter six-cylinder boxer turbo engine (450 hp 530 Nm), paired with an 8-speed PDK robotic gearbox. A mechanical 7-speed gearbox will appear in the arsenal of new items, but a little later.

The rear-wheel drive 911 Carrera s Convertible accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, top speed is 306 km/h. 304 km / h.
The Porsche 911 cabriolet is slightly less dynamic and speed than the coupe version of the same version. Difference to a minimum, the open version of the Porsche 911 is 0.2 more seconds to reach the first hundred, and the top speed is below 2 km / h.
