Price H4 2018 – younger brother ate H6

The compact crossover Haval H4 looks like a new Chinese car for the 2018-2019 model year. The new SUV Great Wall Marine H4 publicly presented on November 17, 2017 as part of the Guangzhou Auto Show and is designed exclusively for the Chinese market. In our review of the Great Wall Haval H4 for 2018-2019 – photos, price, equipment and technical characteristics of the Haval H6 crossover brother platform with a smaller 20 mm wheelbase and a more compact body length (minus 180 mm).

Sales of the H4 heap SUV equipped with 139-horsepower 1.3 GDIT and 169-horsepower 1.5 GDIT petrol turbo fours in the company with a robotic gearbox DCT with 7 in China will begin in early 2018 at a price of around 100,000 yuan (about 895 thousand) per crossover in the basic configuration with the initial motor.

The new crossover Haval H4 will be located in the model range of the Chinese company between the mini crossover Haval H2 and Haval H6 and the 2nd generation. Traditionally for the brand, specifications, the novelty is available to motorists in two versions: a red label on the H4 (pictured is a crossover with a red body in color) and a blue label on the H4 (off-road vehicle is blue). The difference between the Red Label and Blue Label versions is, frankly, minimal, and like a different front and rear crossover design.

The red badge crossover comes with a large false radiator grille, a bumper with a narrow lower air intake slot and horizontally elongated sections for fog lamps, as well as a compact rear bumper and tailgate with a simple relief. The crossover is positioned as a car for young drivers.

The Blue Label version features a compact grille, an original bumper with a wide lower air intake and vertical sections to accommodate fog lights, a more substantial rear bumper and tailgate with complex relief, and a chrome bridge connecting the position lights. The performance of the crossover, according to marketers, is more like middle-aged motorists.

In the very near future, by the way, the debut of the sports version of the new specification will take place, H4 – H4C and Haval with a predatory appearance of the front of the body, the size in the wheelbase is 2680 mm, the total body length is 4.470 mm and 1.5 turbo engines (169 hp) and 2.0 turbo (197 hp).

All in all, the new Haval H4 crossover looks visually very hard to distinguish from its bigger brother and the Haval H6, especially if it's not possible to deliver the vehicle nearby. The differences are actually minimal, and this is most noticeable when comparing cars in profile. There are a bunch of H4 noticeably smaller doors and of course more fried food.

The new Chinese crossover is equipped with two wheels 18 and 19 inches. In the photo commentary, the novelty wears large 19-inch alloy wheels with 225/55 R19 tires, set in large round wheel arches.

If the external body design of the model, technical specifications, H4 surprises are not observed (and how to accept something new when creating a new chief designer of the Chinese brand Pierre Leclerc, all thoughts are already directed to a quick transition to the Korean company KIA) there are quite a lot of original gifts in the cabin.

The H4 model from and Haval is almost entirely original and is very broadly similar to the interior of the Haval and H6.

In the presence of a solid front panel, a somewhat brutal look, a stylish center console turned towards the driver, placed in the center of the multimedia system, an aviation-style display and switches, a digital multifunctional instrument panel, a wide and powerful sports tunnel between the first row seats with expressive side support bolsters, high back and long cushion, comfortable rear seat with an optimal backrest.

The interior looks just great and eloquently suggests that the driver and passengers in the car are a sports crossover… no less. High quality materials (leather, soft plastic, decorative aluminum inserts), careful assembly and fitting of interior elements and, of course, rich equipment, which is traditional to start rolling out blanks for the news version.

Everything is in order with the equipment: a neat digital, multifunctional steering wheel, central locking, dual-zone climate control, driver and front passenger seats, electrically adjustable, heated and ventilated, an advanced multimedia system with a 9-inch color screen (Apple CarPlay and Baidu CarLife, bluetooth, Wi-Fi, navigation, multimedia, rear view camera), electric parking brake, parking assistant, uphill and downhill assistants, 6 airbags, ABS with EBD and BAS, TCS and ESP.

There are also power windows for all doors, power mirrors, heating and automatic folding, parking sensors, a panoramic roof and a power sunroof, cruise control, a drive mode of the system that allows you to change the characteristics of the motor, transmission and steering (three modes are normal, Eco, Sport), a platform for wireless charging of smartphones, a system for tracking objects in the blind zones of mirrors and movement in the lane, LED headlights and LED position lights.

In technical terms, the new crossover specifications, H4 is supported by the model platform, specifications, H6 with a fully independent front (MacPherson) and rear (multi-link) suspension architecture. However, it only provides front-wheel drive. Disc brakes on all wheels, electric power steering.
In the engine compartment, at the choice of the buyer, one of two turbocharged engines that start by default at the enterprise with a 7-speed robotic gearbox (DKP 7).
