10 shameful questions to Haval Jolion that you were afraid to ask
Recently, sales of the brand new Haval Jolion have started. The Chinese crossover has occupied the niche of the H2 that left the domestic market and, judging by the pricing policy, will become the next bestseller of the Havale brand. Are you still not aware of the new product or are you afraid to ask embarrassing questions? Here are ten answers to the most popular of them.
Haval Jolion
What is Jolion and what does “happy lions” have to do with it?
Initially, the current model was known as First Love. But with the entry into the current market, the Chinese decided to move away from the usual alphanumeric naming (hello H2 / H5 / H6 / H9) and gave the name “Jolion” to the crossover. The name of the crossover consists of a combination of two words – Joy and Lion, which means “Joyful Lion” in Russian. Why lions and not tiger cubs – ask the Chinese!

How is it better than the previous H2?
In fact, the Jolion is a completely new machine built on the basis of the “citrus cart”. The modern LEMON platform has absorbed the best practices of the brand, allowing you to combine not only comfort and dynamism, but also good fuel economy indicators, coupled with the variability of motor-transmission bundles. True, not for the current market! So in comparison with its predecessor, the new Jolyon is better in everything!

What's under the hood – turbo again?
Yes, do you mind? In terms of fuel economy and ubiquitous environmental friendliness, turbocharged units are the future. Under the hood of the Haval Jolion is a one and a half liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol. In the front-wheel drive version, the engine output is 143 “horses”, for an all-wheel drive crossover, the engine was boosted to 150 tax-friendly forces. Moreover, modifications with 2WD are equipped with a robotic and mechanical transmission, while only a seven-speed “robot” with two “wet-type” clutches is available for the top-end version.

You say all-wheel drive? It's not even available in China!
Frankly, all-wheel drive has not been available recently. But this is for now, because the prices for the all-wheel drive Jolion have already been announced, and the modification itself is not yet in OTTS. However, for Haval this issue is not a global problem, and certification is only a matter of time. Most likely, by the end of the year, 4WD modifications of the crossover in top trim levels will appear in dealerships.
Jolyon can be bought already?
Certainly! The start of sales took place on May 18, 2021, and after a couple of days the first photos of happy owners appeared. Moreover, the assembly of the SUV began in April of this year at the Tula plant. Break the piggy bank and boldly look to the dealers.

How much does it cost lately?
The base price tag starts at 1,189,900 conventional units. For this price, the buyer will receive a front-wheel drive crossover in the Comfort package with a six-speed manual and a 143-horsepower turbo engine. If you are not used to the “handle” – pay extra 100 thousand conditional units and your robotic transmission.
And what will be in the list of equipment?
We will not say that you will be greatly surprised by the basic configuration, but there will definitely not be a naked “Chinese lion”. The database includes heated front seats, single-zone climate control, keyless entry to the cabin and the ability to start the car engine with a button. The interior is fabric, and the central panel is crowned with a huge 10-inch display of the media system.

Almost all optics are LED, with the exception of head halogen headlights. The list of basic options also includes cruise control, 17-inch wheels, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold and rain / light sensors, coupled with an anti-theft alarm.
They promised control from the phone… They deceived again?
No, this option is available on the Elite package for CU1.29 million. In addition to it, Jolion received LED headlights, a heated rear “sofa”, a rear-view camera with parking sensors and a number of electronic assistants. As for the operation of the remote control system, using the My Haval application, the owner will be able to determine the location of the car, lock / unlock the doors and turn on the climate control. And, for sure, the list of features will be expanded in the near future.

What about top options?
Considering that while all-wheel drive options are not on sale, the most expensive Jolion will cost 1,559,900 conventional units – 143 hp, manual and Premium equipment. Intermediate in terms of equipment, the Elite equipment ranges from 1.29-1.39 million conventional units, depending on the type of transmission.

Should I even buy Haval Jolion?
If Khawail manages to keep the cost at the level of the declared price, then definitely, yes, it is worth it. It is quite difficult to find a new crossover on the market with a similar ratio of price, equipment and quality. The ubiquitous “Kreta” will soon survive a generational change, which will ultimately affect the pricing policy of the South Korean company in relation to the bestseller. And given the recent popularity of Haval, it's safe to say that the new Jolyon has a good and popular future.
