After the “chaos”: the Greek extreme engine driver announced Cubicle and Zion electric cars
Greek company SP Automotive plans to produce environmentally friendly models following the production-ready Chaos ultracar with a twin-pipe V10 petrol engine with a capacity of 3107 hp. The Cubicle electric city car and the Zion luxury hydrogen liftback have already been announced, and there will be more news.
Spyros Panopoulos Automotive (abbreviated as SP Automotive) was founded by Greek engineer, pilot and entrepreneur Spyros Panopoulos, who has been involved in 3D modeling, additive manufacturing and composite materials for over twenty years. With their help, he learned to squeeze incredible performance out of automotive hardware: for example, in 2018, Panopoulos ran a quarter mile on a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX with a 1.8-liter engine with 2880 hp, developed at 14100 rpm. / Min.
Panopoulos' services as an engineer and supplier of exclusive automotive components are, in his own words, used today by racing and extreme car developers from various fields of motorsport, including Formula 1. Panopoulos has accumulated all his experience with internal combustion engines in this week presented the Chaos ultracar, about which we discussed in a separate article. But the era of internal combustion engines in developed countries, as you know, is coming to an end: green energy, sustainable development and, of course, electric vehicles are on the agenda, so SP Automotive has already announced two new “green cars”.
Cabin
Kabikl is the “first Greek electric car”, designed primarily for the city and designed for two: overall length – 4130 mm, width – 1765 mm, height – 1675 mm, wheelbase – 2580 mm. It turned out, frankly, not the most compact two-seater city car, but its characteristics are much more impressive than its existing counterparts like the Chinese Wuling Hongguang Mini EV and the new Chery QQ.

Cubicle is not a slow car, its power plant with a return of 260 hp and 310 Nm will allow you to accelerate to 100 km / h in 6.4 s, the maximum speed is 160 km / h, the range on a single charge is quite sufficient. 280-308 km. Empty weight – 1240 kg. The design is pretty mundane: a glass jar on big 20-inch wheels. Cameras are used instead of exterior mirrors.
Zion
The squat Zion 5-seat hydrogen liftback on 22-inch wheels is far more interesting aesthetically: Panopoulos played with colors and shapes a lot. The SP Automotive website says the Zion is 5030mm long, 2040mm wide and 1345mm high. Curb weight – 1888-2250 kg, depending on modification and configuration.

Zion
Zion is equipped with a hydrogen fuel cell power plant with a capacity of 680 to 1750 hp, a cruising range on one gas station is 780-1350 km, it takes 3.5-1.8 s to accelerate to 100 km / h, the maximum speed is 250 -350 kilometers per hour. It is not very clear why, with such rapid dynamics, the car positions itself as a luxury and family car. The French analogue of Hopium Machina, which, by the way, is already at the testing stage, is much more modest in number.
SP Automotive Electrochemical Hydrogen Generator
SP Automotive claims to have developed an electrochemical generator for the Zion and will 3D print it, like many of the key components in its vehicles – the ornate bionic shapes of these components look truly impressive.
When Cubicle and Zion hit the market and hit the road, Panopoulos hasn't said it yet, while another new product called Apeiron has been announced on the site, but there's still no word on it.
