Both technical and external improvements of the Peugeot 206 are quite simple to do with your own hands. In most cases, tuning does not require buying expensive spare parts. To get a good result, it is enough to buy and install parts from newer Peugeot models.

1 Modernization of the car suspension – installation of "daisies"

The most problematic element of the Peugeot 206 is deservedly considered the chassis of the car. Regardless of whether you have a hatchback or a sedan, the shortcomings in the suspension are evident almost immediately. The chassis of the car is simply not properly balanced: when accelerating, the car throws to the sides, the car starts to react only after an almost complete turn of the steering wheel. Another big problem is the behavior of the suspension when braking. Even if you smoothly stop your Peugeot, the car will still “dangle" and the wheels will touch the fender liner.

And all because the problem lies in a completely different thing – in rubber silent blocks installed in the cross member of the front axle. By replacing these elements, you will permanently get rid of twitches and strange car throws to the sides. The first thing you need to tune the chassis is new parts. Rubber-metal hinges, popularly called "daisies", are best suited for their role. Buying new parts is quite expensive – the cost of a set of two hinges ranges from 4–5.5 thousand rubles. Therefore, it is best to find used spare parts from Peugeot 3008.

The main condition is to buy parts on which there are no cracks and dents. In addition to new elements, we will need a set of wrenches, screwdrivers and equipment for pressing silent blocks.

First you need to hang the front of the Peugeot 206 on the jack. We dismantle the protection of the motor of the machine and the stretching of the front axle. Next, unscrew and remove the front engine mount. After that, you need to unscrew the bolts holding the supports on the cross member of the front axle. We do not completely unscrew the nut holding the support on the generator bracket. Set the support aside. Next, unscrew the 2 bolts that secure the cross member to the Peugeot body. We also unscrew the 4 bolts holding the cross member to the side members.

At the next stage of tuning, it is necessary to completely remove the front beam. After that, we press out the old silent block towards the front of the car. We remove the spare part and clean the place of dirt. At the end, it remains to press the new silent blocks. The hinges will be installed correctly if their smaller flanges are completely out of the hole in the cross member. After that, we assemble the front suspension in reverse order. By completing the revision of the chassis with your own hands, you will save at least 8 thousand rubles. In this case, the work will take no more than 2 hours of time.

    • mounting foam;
    • thick film;
    • knife;
    • fiberglass;
    • epoxy resin;
    • sandpaper.

First, we install the film on the Peugeot roof and apply mounting foam to it. The latter should corrode the paintwork of the car. After the foam dries, you can start cutting out the element. The shape can be any, the main thing is that the element is symmetrical. The resulting workpiece can be pasted over with fiberglass. The thickness of the latter should not exceed 2 mm. We leave the blank for a day so that it dries completely.

Several coats of epoxy must be applied over the fiberglass. In this case, you need to pause to give each of them to dry completely. Next, we grind the workpiece with sandpaper. At the end, it remains to paint the air intake, make 2 small holes in the Peugeot roof and install the finished part. To secure the fastening, you need to use rivets, which are sold in auto parts stores.

    • 4 LED strips of 40 cm;
    • 4 resistors;
    • soldering iron;
    • Super glue;
    • adapter for connecting tapes to power;
    • 3 m wiring;
    • toggle switch for adjusting the intensity of lighting.

So, first you need to choose a place to mount the diodes. Ideally, the latter should be located at the bottom of the instrument panel. For rear passengers, the backlight can be positioned on the back of the front seats just below the pockets. Solder a wire to each strip. On the other side of the wiring, you need to solder the resistors. Next, we connect the resistors to the adapter and power the tapes for testing. It is best to connect them to the Peugeot ashtray lighting power supply. So the tapes will not depend on the light of open doors and a standard ceiling.

If everything works, you can stick the tapes. To do this, in the selected places, apply a thin strip of superglue and apply tape. We hold it for about 2 minutes, after which we connect the diodes. We insert the toggle switch into the hole near the ashtray and solder one of the remaining wires to it. The other end of the wire is connected to an adapter with resistors. At the end, it remains to clean the interior of dust and continue to operate the updated Peugeot 206.
