At the time when I was at the showroom, in early 2021, the Hyundai Elantra was on sale, with a choice of two engines and one transmission. Let me remind you that the type of drive in the car is front.
- Petrol (AI-95), atmospheric, four-cylinder, in-line engine, 1.6-liter capacity, 128 horsepower, is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.
- Gasoline (AI-95) atmospheric, four-cylinder, in-line engine with a volume of 2.0 liters, 150 horsepower, is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.
Both power units are already familiar from the previous car model. We can say with confidence that they have proven themselves well.
Dimensions
The car Hyundai Elantra (CN7) belongs to the class – C.

The new Elantra (seventh generation) is 80 mm longer than the previous model. Increased in width by 25 mm. Became lower by 20 mm. The wheelbase has been extended by 20 mm.
Let's look under the car
MacPherson type front suspension with integrated anti-roll bar. Disc brakes on the front axle. On 16 wheels, the front track width is 1585 mm.
I would like to note that there is no lower crankcase protection of the engine. I think it's not worth saving here and you need to buy more protection.
Carrying body. Ground clearance is about 15 centimeters. Installed aerodynamic / noise-absorbing shields. You can ignore the corrosion that is on the muffler; most modern cars have a similar picture. Of course, if the manufacturer used a metal less prone to corrosion, it would be good. However, continuous savings on materials play a more important role in pricing.
Rear suspension: spring, with separate shock absorbers, semi-independent (mounted beam). Brakes on the rear axle are disc. The track width on 16 wheels is 1596 mm.
The towing eye is located at the bottom of the spare wheel “bath”. For me, this constructive solution is from the 2000s.
In the back of the car, the inscription “ELANTR A” flaunts in large letters. A video camera is built in above the Hyundai logo. When the car moves in reverse, the video camera displays the image on the LCD screen of the audio system. It's cool that in the minimum configuration there is such an option.
At the top of the trunk lid, there is a solid plastic lining. This constructive solution is controversial, however, for a tuning studio, whole spaces for fantasies open up here. Since the form of plastic can be poured into almost any.
Let's look in the luggage compartment
The volume of the luggage compartment is 474 liters. The backrests of the second row of seats are laid out according to the formula 60/40 (the keys are located on the side of the luggage compartment).

I'm already tired of thinking about the fact that the South Korean automaker saves on everything. The protruding white strip of seam sealer draws attention to itself. Do you think this is normal? On the second row
Sitting on the second row of passenger seats, I will say that the landing is comfortable, it is comfortable to sit on the seat. I note that there is more legroom than in the previous version of the car. There is an armrest with built-in cup holders.
Seat trim can be made of fabric (as in the car in question), as well as eco-leather. Fabric on tactile sensations wearproof, good quality.
Of the minuses: the angle of inclination of the backs is not adjustable, the lower part is also not adjustable in the forward / backward direction.
Of all the excesses, in the armrest of the front row of seats, there is only a deflector from the climate system. There is no built-in 12-volt outlet, there are no USB connectors either. But in vain, in a C-class car they could have been provided.
At the driver's workplace
The door trim is made of “Oak” plastic, in the upper / central part there is an insert with a stitching, made of a material similar to leather.
The driver's seat is comfortable. Visibility is good. The range of adjustments of the steering column, and the position of the seat is enough to find a comfortable position behind the wheel. I note that the adjustment is mechanical.

As for the interior (the interior of the car), here, in my opinion, there is too much with extra plastic parts. For example, why do we need a passenger handle built into the tunnel part. Are you going to race? Or do they think that there are no roads lately?!
In the central lower part of the panel, under the climate system control panel, there is a 12-volt socket and two USB connectors.
To summarize: I liked the new Elantra more on the outside than how it was equipped inside. In the car dealership that I visited, the car in question, with attachments, was sold for 1,639,000 conventional units. Having found out from the manager how much a car in the maximum configuration would cost, I received an answer – in the region of 2,000,000 conditional units.
