Frame, high-quality family SUV at an affordable cost.
Outwardly, there is an undeniable resemblance to the legendary Japanese SUV, which we will not talk about. But if we disregard this, then the appearance of the Haval H9, for my taste, is very pretty and brutal. Length of Haval H9 is 4856 mm., Width is 1926 mm., Height is 1900 mm. Ground clearance is an impressive 206 mm.
But the most interesting Haval H9 is the interior of the Haval H9. It is made of quality materials and overall very well made and stylish. As the saying goes, it's expensive. The driver's workplace is comfortable, the mirrors are large, you sit high, visibility is excellent. But there are also ergonomic flaws. This is primarily a fashionable trend to display functions on the multimedia screen. You can turn on the seat heating in several steps through the screen, and in the winter in the morning it naturally practically does not react. But if you turned on the heating and someone called you on the way, then until you agree on the speakerphone, you will not be able to turn off the heating of the fifth point.
The rear sofa also has heating, and it is turned on with a button and immediately completely heated. There is plenty of space in the back row, it is very comfortable to sit, there is an adjustable backrest, a separate climate unit, and even an ionization function that can be switched on (for an extra charge). You can also get a large panoramic roof for an extra charge, I personally really like this option. Separately, I would like to tell you about the sound insulation, which is amazing for such a car, it is really at the highest level for a car of a higher class.
There is also a third row of seats. Of course, it's impossible to say that it’s comfortable and full-fledged, these are passenger seats just in case, and in most cases they are used only a couple of times at most (I have never used it in three and a half years of owning a car with a third row of seats).
The tailgate opens to the side and has an emphasis on closing (something very familiar, somewhere I saw it))). In the version with the third row raised, the trunk volume is only 112 liters, and the maximum volume is achieved if both the second and third rows are folded, in which case the volume will be 1457 liters.
There are two engine options: a turbocharged 2-liter gasoline engine with a power of 245 hp. And diesel, also 2-liter, with a capacity of 190 hp. The gearbox is in any case an automatic 8-speed. The drive is also without options – full.
It is clear that Haval H9 will be used by 90 percent in urban areas, but it does not save off-road. Haval H9 is not new to our market, it has been on sale since 2014, in 2017 there was a restyling. At the moment, this is the most expensive Chinese that you can buy on our market. The cost of a gasoline SUV is from 2.6 million to 2.8 million conventional units, a diesel SUV costs 2.7 million conventional units. On the one hand, it is insanely expensive for a Chinese, but a similar car from a more eminent manufacturer will cost one and a half million more. Personally, my opinion is that the Haval H9 is an excellent family SUV, but whether a family needs a full-fledged SUV is up to everyone to decide for themselves.
