The British company Prodrive has introduced a civilian Hunter, which can be driven on public roads, but its main element is still sand and stones. There will be a limited edition of 25 pieces priced from £1.25 million each.

Last summer, Prodrive introduced the upgraded Hunter T1+ rally-raid car designed for the Dakar Rally, and now the conditional road Hunter is ready, which anyone can buy, if he, of course, has an “extra” 1.25 million pounds sterling. The first buyer was the Crown Prince of Bahrain, Salman bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, it is his sand-colored car that is shown in the photographs.

At the heart of the “Hunter” is a spatial frame made of high-strength steel, the outer panels are made of composite materials. The cabin retained the FIA-homologated safety cage, but the interior design of the civilian version was redesigned by Ian Callum (he worked as the chief designer of the Jaguar brand until 2019), the front panel was changed in the direction of greater comfort compared to the production car, more comfortable seats were installed, more familiar in appearance a center console with a multimedia screen and a new digital instrument panel, sound insulation has been significantly improved. The fuel tank with a capacity of 480 liters, located behind the cab, can be lowered at the request of the client to increase the volume of the trunk.

The Prodrive Hunter is 4.6m long, 2.3m wide, 1.85m high and has a 3.0m wheelbase, but at the same time the suspension travel has been increased from 50mm to 400mm for better driving. The suspension itself is the same as a racing car: double wishbones “in a circle” and two adjustable shock absorbers for each wheel. Brakes: Disc, ventilated with 6-piston calipers on each wheel. The engine is located forward but behind the front axle, which is why Prodrive calls the Hunter a mid-engine.

The engine is a modified 3.5-liter Ford V6 petrol with two turbochargers (the same used in the Bronco Raptor), its performance is increased by approximately 50% compared to a race car, the performance of which is limited by regulations, increased by approximately 50%: power – more than 600 hp, torque – 700 Nm. The gearbox is a 6-speed “robot” with huge paddle shifters on the steering column. Traction, of course, is full, with three differentials (interaxal and two between the wheels). To 100 km/h Prodrive Hunter accelerates in less than 4 s, the maximum speed is about 300 km/h.
