The Logan station wagon in the new generation has become a separate model: it is a Jogger with an “off-road” body kit
We are talking about a novelty owned by Renault brand Dacia. The model will most likely share the engine range with related sedan and hatchback.
The Romanian brand Dacia announced a new family car back in July, and even then it was clear that a station wagon based on the third generation Logan was being prepared for the premiere. Now it turned out that it was decided to position the novelty as a separate model: it was called Jogger. As told in the company, the choice fell on this name because of its simplicity, besides, the suffix “er” makes the station wagon related to the Duster crossover. The online presentation will be held on September 3, and the public premiere will take place on September 6 at the Munich Motor Show (the exhibition moved there from Frankfurt). Well, you can get the first idea about the car by looking at its teasers.
Dacia Jogger is a high-capacity wagon with a high roof, that is, it was made in the style of the first generation Logan MCV, which became a donor for our Lada Largus. Most likely, the new Romanian “five-door” will still be distinguished by its increased length and wheelbase. In addition, it is officially announced that the Jogger will be offered with both five and seven-seat interiors. Recall that the “second” Dacia Logan MCV was a “traditional” station wagon with a distance between the axles and a two-row saloon that was almost the same as the then sedan (that “barn” had already left the European market).
The teasers also show that the Jogger has a “crossover” body kit, plus crossbars are built into the roof rails installed on the roof, which are laid out without much effort. The release also emphasizes that the station wagon is suitable for trips out of town, so it is not yet clear whether it will have a “regular” version without unpainted plastic in a circle (the predecessor was available as both a Stepway “crossover” and a standard “barn”). “). Finally, the models got vertical taillights and a lifting tailgate (the “second” Logan MCV had this, while the first generation Logan MCV – and the current Largus – had hinged doors).
The salon is not illuminated, however, inside the Dacia Jogger, it probably repeated the related Logan sedan and the Sandero hatch, so we are waiting for the “floating” tablet of the multimedia system. Otherwise, the list of equipment is also likely to be identical: relatives in the top versions are provided with climate control, cruise control, a rear-view camera and a blind spot monitoring system.
With the “four-door” and the hatchback, the Jogger should, in theory, also share the engine range: Dacia “state employees” are now available to Europeans with gasoline three-cylinder “aspirated” 1.0 SCe (65 hp) and a 1.0 TCe turbo engine (90 hp), there is still a gas 100-horsepower modification. Boxes (depending on the engine) – five- or six-speed “mechanics”, a variator.
