Kia K5 will be better than Optima? We find out!
Orders have already started
The new K5 has a pronounced sporty character – the “tiger smile” grille has become wider, its design and execution have changed, combined into a single compositional solution with headlights. At the same time, the designers retained the smoothness of the lines in the front of the sedan. Due to the extended fenders and a special “narrowing” body stamping at the bottom of the doors, the silhouette of the new K5 turned out to be “lean” and swift.
A sporty accent to the car is also given by frameless doors and a descending chrome piping along the edges of the roof, which smoothly wraps around the lower cut of the rear window. The size of the Kia K5 is 4905 mm (+50 mm) long, 1860 mm (+25 mm) wide and 1445 mm (-20 mm) high. It is worth noting that the wheelbase has increased to 2850 mm, which will make the ride smoother and reduce the range of longitudinal “buildup”.
Technical characteristics of the Korean business sedan will be presented by a 2.0-liter MPI engine with multiport injection (150 hp and 192 Nm of torque) paired with a classic 6-speed automatic transmission (for Classic, Comfort, Luxe, Prestige versions and Style), as well as a 2.5-liter GDI engine (194 hp and 246 Nm of torque) in combination with an 8-speed automatic transmission (for Luxe, Prestige, Style, GT Line and GT Line + versions). Both powertrain options will be offered with front-wheel drive.
