The Jetour brand brings the X90 Plus crossover to the home market. At the moment, the model is offered with two engines to choose from, but later the range can be expanded. All-wheel drive never showed up.

We have already talked about the success of the young Jetour brand (created by Cherie in 2018), so we will not dwell on sales results again. We only recall that the project was successful, so much so that the brand was turned into a separate company, however, wholly owned by Chery. Until today, the lineup included the X70, X90 and X95 crossovers, plus variations of the “seventieth” (Coupe, a simplified version of the X70M and an electric version). Now they are joined by another SUV – X90 Plus.

In fact, this is a restyling of the “nineties”, but the old cross will not disappear from sale (the same story with the X70). Well, the most interesting thing is that initially they were going to sell the upgraded X95 under the name X90 Plus! The crossover with the prefix “plus” in the name was presented in April at the Shanghai Motor Show, “ninety-fifth” in that car was given out by the shape of the glazing and darkened rear pillars. However, in August, already at the exhibition in Chengdu, the X90 Plus made its debut, made really from the “ninetieth”. By the way, in May-June, a photo of two Pluses was added to the database of the Chinese Ministry of Industry – based on the X90 and X95. However, these crossovers are still as unified as possible, and it is possible that another variety will enter the market later. But back to the SUV, the sale of which started today.

So, Jetour X90 Plus has found new bumpers, a huge grille with horizontal dies and LED running lights lined up vertically. Headlights – from X95, but the taillights are original, they are interconnected by luminous and chrome strips. The length of the Plus is 4858 mm, according to this indicator, the crossover fits between the X90 (4840 mm) and X95 (4875 mm). Wheelbase – the same 2850 mm as the “ninetieth” (X95 – 2855 mm). The width and height are the same for all three models – 1925 and 1780 mm, respectively.

Inside, there is a virtual “tidy” and a multimedia system screen hidden under one glass, like the “simple” X90 and X95. At the same time, the Plus has its own “chips” – a new box joystick, air vents have a different shape, in addition, a narrow touch panel is responsible for controlling the “climate”, while the “ninetieth” and “ninety-fifth” have a full display with washers. “In the base” there are still all-round cameras and cruise control, and the top version puts wireless charging for a smartphone, adaptive “cruise”, auto-braking and lane keeping systems. Like the X90/X95, the X90 Plus is available with five, six or seven seats, in the latter case the seats are arranged in a 2+3+2 arrangement.

The engines are the same as those of the rest of the Jetours: petrol turbo fours 1.5 TCI (156 hp, 230 Nm) and 1.6 TGDI (197 hp, 290 Nm), the first engine is combined with a 6MKP or a six-speed robotic gearbox with two clutches, the second is paired with 7DCT. Front wheel drive only. Meanwhile, the X90 Plus has also been certified with a 2.0 turbo engine with 254 hp. (new for the family) – apparently, a cross with such a motor will appear later.
